Masterson Station
Lexington is home to another dog park in the community of Masterson Station, and it's only 20 miles north of Wilmore. The Masterson Station Dog Park has two distinct sections, although there are no signs designating use for big or small dogs, so be prepared for your dog to come across dogs of all sizes. The Masterson Station Dog Park is part of a larger city park with playgrounds and picnic facilities, so there are activities for the whole family to enjoy there. The dog park has plenty of trees to provide shade, as well as seating, a water fountain, and doggy bags, and it's free for the public to use.36

Griffin Gate
The Coldstream Dog Park in central Lexington, Kentucky is a half-hour drive from Wilmore. This massive 12-acre dog park has three sections: one for big dogs, one for small dogs, and one section where the grass isn't mowed so dogs can feel like they're hunting in the brush. Coldstream Dog Park is fenced and has a double-gated entry system for added security. The park provides visitors with doggy bags, seating, and a water station, so you and Fido have everything you need! Visitors love that this park never feels crowded. Leashed dogs are also welcome to accompany their owners on the park's trails.24

Andover Hills
South-central Lexington is just 20 miles from Wilmore, and near the community of Andover Hills sits the Jacobson Dog Park. Jacobson Dog Park is Lexington's first dog park, and it underwent a major renovation in 2014. Today, the park consists of nearly eight acres of land divided into a section for big dogs and another for small dogs. Mature trees throughout the park provide plenty of shade on hot days, and there is also a water fountain in the park. If your dog is especially energetic, you'll love that there are hills within this dog park to help tire your pooch out when they're running around.12

Northwest Danville
The Chocwalk Dog Park at Millenium Park in Danville, Kentucky is special for a few reasons. The park was named after a beloved Chesapeake Retriever named Chocolate who passed away in 2005. His owners donated the funds for the creation of this park, and it's become a pawpular spot for locals and visitors alike to socialize and allow their dogs some off-leash fun. The dog park is well-maintained, and it has running water, seating, and waste disposal items. Millenium Park also has plenty of other activities for your whole family to enjoy, including playgrounds, fishing, a skate park, and sports fields. There are also walking trails throughout the park that your dog can join you on if they're on a leash.
