If you live in Richmond, you are extremely lucky to have a dog park close by! The city is home to Judy Rains Memorial Dog Park. The park has a walking trail that takes you to Lake Reba. In addition, it has a playground so you can even take your kids! The dog park has two play areas: one for big dogs and one for small dogs. Ford
Located in the small community of Ford in the northern part of Richmond, you will find the Fort Boonesborough State Park. This state park is loved by everybody in the area. Not only is this a historically significant site that has been protected and preserved by the city but it is also a wonderful place to take your dog to play, sit and relax. The park has plenty of open spaces, seating and shade. Furthermore, it is so large that you are unlikely to have to share space with anyone, making it perfect for a quiet day. Take a leash, a good book and enjoy the scenery with your pooch!

Downtown Lexington
Located only 27 miles from the heart of Richmond is the bustling city of Lexington. Unlike Richmond, Lexington is rich in dog parks. It has not one, two or three, but four dog parks that you can take your dog to! The parks -- the Masterson Station Dog Park, Coldstream Dog Park, Wellington Dog Park and Jacobson Dog Park -- are so close together you could even visit them all in one day. Interestingly, each and every park is completely off-leash! Leave the leash at home and let your dog make some new friends! You both will have a pawsome time in Lexington.
