North Hana
North Hana is a beautiful beachside neighborhood with plenty to check out during your walks with your dog. Kalahu Point is a puptastic beach where you can bring your dog on-leash to explore the terrain together. You will need to bring your waste bags with you so you can help keep the area clean and beautiful. The beach is a great place to relax with a good book or enjoy some splashing with your dog. You may need to lead him to the water, but you won't have to make him swim on this gorgeous Hawaii beach front!36

Central Hana
Central Hana is where you and your dog will find the beautiful and expansive Waianapanapa State Park. This dog-freindly zone is home to trees and grassy clearings and, of course, lovely lush beaches where you can hang out all day long. You will need your towels and some tennis balls to get the most out of your visit to Central Hana. Your dog will be having fun in no time, so much so that he won't mind one bit if you sneak him a doggy treat or two out of your pocket! Just make sure the waste bags are in there somewhere too!24

South Hana
South Hana borders the Hana Forest Reserve. This forest is a huge area designated for wildlife and respectful visitors who promise to be mindful and stick to their designated paths. You can hike through the reserve with a group of good friends and their pups, or you can arrange a guided tour. Either way, your dog is in for a long and exciting day if you choose to stop at the Forest Reserve while you are in South Hana. The Hana Bay Beach Park is also found in South Hana if you are looking for a wetter way to enjoy the island sun!12

Nahiku
The Makapipi Stream flows directly through the center of Nahiku. This little town is just 35 minutes north, up the coast from Hana. It is well worth the drive if you are looking to get out of town for a bit and enjoy some local scenery. You will also find plenty of places to enjoy the streams and creeks that flow through the town all the way down to the ocean. There are a variety of coves and beaches in Nahiku that you and your pup can explore with a leash and plenty of waste bags as well -- the Nahiku View Point and Wayside is a pupular destination for visitors throughout the year.
