Courtney was great! My dog has separation anxiety & is usually freaking out when I get home after being gone all day. But this time, she was calm and happy. She clearly loved Courtney!

Sheana came through when I was in a pinch. I needed someone to let the dogs out because I was stuck in traffic in the mountains. She responded last minute and had excellent communication. She’s the best!

It was our first time leaving Skittles with a sitter, and Daniel did a great job of assuaging our fears! He was super communicative and made sure we knew that Skittles was in good hands. Highly recommend!

Kelli was awesome boarding my two dogs. Not only did she give daily updates with videos and pictures she also worked with them on introducing them to her cat and getting used to her big dogs. Can't recommend enough!

Coeur d'Alene Reservation

Coeur d'Alene Reservation

Rails-to-Trails has decided that to make your seven mile trip to Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes just the beginning of your adventure. This 70 mile part of the trail is completely paved so that you can ride your bike, travel in your wheel chair, or just have a smooth walking space to enjoy with your dog. The pavement is just the beginning of the wonder. This end of the trail is amazing trip through the mountains. You will see the shining of the lake, the rolling of the foothills, and the majestic bridge, all just as they were when the rail system was laid in the 1800s.

Central Harrison

Central Harrison

If you are all done exploring the Plummer end of Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes, then you should take your dog down to the Harrison side. It is about 45 miles to this end, but it is completely different than the other side, and well worth the adventure. Chatcolet Bridge is the high point of this part of the trail because it raises you to epic heights so that you get a panoramic view of the entire area. Please keep your dog on his leash at all times because there is a ton of wildlife in this area, including coyote.

If you want to take a car ride to a great adventure, then take the 26-mile trip to North Idaho Centennial Trail. This is another section of the Rails-to-Trails system that makes its way across Idaho. It is majestic, with its natural beauty taking center stage. Not only do you have a gorgeous view of the Coeur d'Alenes Lake, but you also have the Spokane River on this trail as well. If you bring Fido’s leash, you can spend as long as you want exploring these paved trails without having to fight the congestion of the city. Don’t forget to bring water, though.

Potlatch

Potlatch

Now, at first, your dog may not like that it is a 45-minute drive to Mary Minerva McCroskey Country Trail. However, once you get here, Fido will be begging to stay longer. You can walk the entire trail in about two hours, if you take your time. However, this trail is only part of a larger state park, which encompasses 5,000 acres. So, grab a leash, get your dog and get in the car. This is the place to make adventures happen for your entire family! The stress of the world literally melts away when you step into this natural world. Bring your camera and keep your eyes open for all the animals of the area.
