Coeur d'Alene Reservation
Rails-to-Trails has decided that to make your seven mile trip to Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes just the beginning of your adventure. This 70 mile part of the trail is completely paved so that you can ride your bike, travel in your wheel chair, or just have a smooth walking space to enjoy with your dog. The pavement is just the beginning of the wonder. This end of the trail is amazing trip through the mountains. You will see the shining of the lake, the rolling of the foothills, and the majestic bridge, all just as they were when the rail system was laid in the 1800s.

Central Harrison
If you are all done exploring the Plummer end of Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes, then you should take your dog down to the Harrison side. It is about 45 miles to this end, but it is completely different than the other side, and well worth the adventure. Chatcolet Bridge is the high point of this part of the trail because it raises you to epic heights so that you get a panoramic view of the entire area. Please keep your dog on his leash at all times because there is a ton of wildlife in this area, including coyote.
