South Friendswood
Stevenson Park has a half mile jogging trail where your leashed pup can join you for a walk, or the two of you can enjoy a free-form wander through the rest of the park where there are plenty of sounds and smells to make for a sniff-tastic time. Plenty of trees for shade and benches throughout the park offer a place for a rest if you need one. A trail leads from Stevenson Park, over Clear Creek and past a horse stable, and all the way to Old City Park. Fido will thank you for another round on the trails at this 6-acre park.

Forest Bend
Fido will be leaping for joy over the waggin’ good stroll at Oxnard Park. The two of you will enjoy the peaceful and well-maintained environment. The nature trails are graveled and will lead you through the shaded, tall-tree woods to Clear Creek where you can dip your toes (and paws) into the cool water. There’s plenty of open, grassy, green space for playing Frisbee with your pooch or playing ball or wrestling in the sun. Tie up your trainers and pick up the leash, and take your pup for a stroll in the park, making sure to take time to explore the creek. Note that this park does not have restrooms on site.

Wedgewood Village
1776 Memorial Park is a well-maintained, yet rustic, park that remains a very natural environment. While it doesn’t have the usual amenities of playgrounds and picnic tables found in many community parks, the lush green hiking trails that wind back through the woods and follow along Clear Creek are sure to keep you and your pup awed. The wooden benches along the trails provide a rest from your walk when you and your fur baby are tired, or just want to take in nature’s beauty. The park has few visitors, but is a lovely place to give your pup a good round of exercise in the fresh air. Invite a few of your dog enthusiast friends to join you with their pups for a friendly stroll.

Lakes of Falcon Ridge
Centennial Park in this neighborhood is a great place for a short stroll with your pup. The park features a small trail amidst the trees that loops around a small pond, as well as an amphitheater and many sports fields. The park is typically quiet, which allows you and Fido to enjoy a carefree romp in the open spaces between games, or find a quiet moment on the shaded seating on warm days. Make an outing with some of your friends and their pups to this hidden gem. This park does not have restrooms on site for humans.
FM 528 Rd/ W Bay Area Blvd
Challenger Seven Memorial Park honors the astronauts who were aboard Space Shuttle Challenger when it exploded January 28, 1986, 73 seconds after liftoff. Approximately 100 acres of this 300 acre park has been sanctioned by the Audubon Society as a designated bird sanctuary. Fido will be thrilled to take a leashed walk on the 2.2-mile boardwalk trails to follow the sounds of birds singing, insects chirping, and frogs burping as you walk along. There’s a fishing pond on site that is stocked annually and makes for playful fun playing with the fish and ducks that live there. This park has a range of facilities, including picnic areas and restrooms, so pack a lunch and make a day of it!
