Lakewood Estates
Located to the south of downtown, Lakewood Estates is home to one of Denton’s most popular attractions for dogs. Wiggly Field at Lake Forest Park is a spacious fenced-in dog park where pets are welcome to run and play off-leash. While many parks offer separate areas for large and small dogs, this one takes it a step further and also has a separate area for more aggressive dogs. The park has several miles of walking trails, and there is even a pond where your canine companion can take a dip to cool off. Water fountains, tables and benches are available throughout the park.36
Corinth
Corinth lies southeast of downtown Denton and offers a few unique places to take your dog. Corinth Community Park is home to a 4-mile trail loop. This trail is appropriate for all skill levels and features a lake. Tree coverage helps block out the sun on hot days. For a longer adventure, check out Denton Branch Rail Trail. It’s one of 1600 trails supported by the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, and it’s a great place to plan a hike for your four-legged friend. This concrete trail spans 8 miles, and there is plenty of parking. The Denton Branch Rail Trail is open to hikers and bikers, so no matter which activity you prefer, it’s the perfect destination.

Downtown Denton
When you’re in downtown Denton, check out the 32-acre Quakertown Park. This historical park features a garden walk area for you and your companion to explore. When you’ve finished there, the downtown area is the perfect place to grab a bite to eat with your pet. Stop by Rooster’s Roadhouse for delicious burgers and barbecue, or visit Harvest House, Greenhouse Restaurant, J & J’s Pizza on the Square, Sweetwater Grill & Tavern, or any of the other local restaurants that welcome dogs in their outdoor patio area. No matter what you’re in the mood for, you will likely find it in Denton.

Cotton Gin/ Jet Port Pky
Located just over 20 miles from Denton on the other side of Lewisville Lake, this neighborhood in the nearby town of Frisco is a great place to take your dog if you want to get out of town for the day. B.F. Phillips Community Park is home to Ruff Range, a 2.5-acre dog park featuring hills, trees, benches and pavilions for pets and their parents to enjoy. The park is open from sunrise to sunset and includes separate areas for small and large dogs. If you plan on visiting, make note that this dog park is closed on Thursdays for maintenance. When you’re done playing, stop by 3 Stacks Smoke & Tap House. This local favorite serves up delicious barbecue, and the patio area is dog-friendly. There are fans to help keep your pooch cool, and wait staff will bring your companion a bowl of fresh water.
Route 121/ S Railroad St
This neighborhood in Lewisville is located just a short drive from Denton, and Railroad Dog Park is worth the trip. This 6-acre fenced-in park dedicates 1 acre to smaller breeds and 5 acres to large breeds. Both areas feature covered seating areas for pet parents. Waste disposal, wash stations, watering fountains and transition areas for leasing and unleashing are located near the entrances. Let your dog run and play on some of the park’s agility items, and when you’re finished for the day, stop by one of the city’s many restaurants with dog-friendly outdoor seating.
