Arlington Heights
If your dog's more of a trailblazer than a social butterfly, you can hike the Marietta River Trail in Arlington Heights. This 4.9-mile trail is dog-friendly and is a beginner level trail with no steep inclines or rough areas. Along the way, there are scenic views of the Muskingham River that will be on your right if you're heading south. Be sure to bring plenty of water and waste baggies for your adventures along the trail! This trail is a local favorite for dog walkers, so you two are sure to meet new furry friends along the way. Fido's bowing and wagging his tail, which means he's ready to go play in Arlington Heights!

Harmar Hills
Do your dogs regard a relaxing walk and lounge in the park as the most important parts of their day? If being totally lazy for a day sounds quite "fetching" for your dogs, the best neighborhood to live in is Harmar Hill. On the other side of the river from downtown, Harmar Hill is the sleepier version of the muttropolis. There's still plenty of neighbors -- both furry and less furry -- without the big city atmosphere of downtown Marietta. You can visit Lookout Park, which has all the amenities of a city-owned park, like grills, pavilions, walking trails, and restrooms. There's also a ball field, which is a great place to play fetch! The furry Harmar Hill residents also enjoy strolls on the bank of the Ohio River which is a safe place to walk to get some "fur-st" rate peace of mind. Fido's feeling zen already!

Downtown Marietta
Do your dogs scramble for the door around dinner time? They've been pacing their bowls for the last half hour, and when they see you put your shoes on, they know it's time to go out for dinner! If you live in downtown Marietta, there's plenty of pet-friendly options to choose from, and the doggie resident favorite is Austyn's. Here, you'll find a sampling of international cuisine. With an outside seating area that overlooks the river, you and Fido can "whine and dine" along the shore. You can try entrees like the blue & black rib eye, Maryland crab cakes, or a strawberry spinach walnut salad. After dessert, you and Fido can walk along the river right in the heart of downtown! Fido will be begging for some table scraps!

Grand View
Do your dogs like to roam the forest to sniff out the trees and shrubs? If you live in the Grand View neighborhood, you can head over to the Cisler Hiking Trail for just that! This pawesome trail is a great place to visit in the fall when the leaves change colors and coat the ground. Your dog will have a blast crunching through the 2.2-mile trail. Along the way, you'll cross wooden bridges, weave through ferns, and you can even pick the pawpaw fruit from the native southeastern Ohio trees! About a mile in, you'll come to a meadow clearing that also intersects with the Tiger Trail. This is a great place to throw a picnic before continuing the hike. Fido can't wait to go explore in Grand View!

North Hills
Do your dogs like to lose their collars and get off the leash at the dog park? If you live in the northern section of Marietta, in the North Hills neighborhood, you can walk over to the Marietta Community Dog Park. This 2-acre off-leash dog park is fenced within the larger Jackson Hill Park and is especially for doggos. The park has amenities like human restrooms, doggie waste clean-up supplies, and running water. This neighborhood is also just a bone's throw from some furrific hiking trails. Fido's bowing and wagging his tail, which means he's ready to go play in North Hills!
