Wilson

Wilson is in the same city as East Wilson. Wilson has a few amenities for a person with a dog. Calvin E. Krueger Park is located at Rt. 18 350 Ontario Street. Krueger includes a dog park in its southeast corner. This dog park is enclosed by a 6-foot fence for some safe off-leash fun. It has separate areas for small and large dogs. The dogs run leash-free and socialize on a surface of grass and wood chips. The small dog sections has a few pieces of obstacle equipment, and the park has a basket of toys for its visitors. Water is available. Human companions have some benches on which to sit while supervising their pups.

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls is 24 miles south of Wilson. Niagara Falls State Park is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. It also has some dog-friendly trails from which you and your pup can view the splendor of the falls. The trails are strictly on-leash only. No doggie or water stops on the way, though. Niagara Falls also has several dog-friendly restaurants to check out after a day on the trail. Soliday’s Bar & Grille, located at 3964 Lockport Road, offers some casual dining at its 4 outdoor tables. Beer and burgers are top on the menu at Soliday’s . Wine on Third, located at 501 3rd Street, has dog-friendly patio dining and specializes in wine which pairs well with the restaurant’s variety of dishes.

Amherst

Amherst is 25 miles south of Wilson. The Amherst community knows how to take care of its dogs. The Paw Park is located at 560 Smith Road. The Paw Park is owned and operated by a non-profit organization. They do not charge for the use of the dog park. This dog park is a fully fenced one with two sections. A separate section is reserved for small dogs. The surface of the dog Pprk is mostly grass. Waste bags and receptacles are conveniently placed inside the dog park. There are also many picnic tables and benches for the human companions. Water is available on-site. Papi Grande’s, located at 4276 Maple Road, serves Mexican cuisine, and has outdoor dog-friendly tables available for you and your pup.

Tonawanda

Tonawanda is 26 miles south of East Wilson. Tonawanda is home to Ellicott Island Bark Park, located at 10 Creekside Drive. Ellicott Island Park is a very unique off-leash dog park. There is no fencing in the dog park. This is an entire island that allows dogs to run leash-free through it! People have numerous places to sit, and there’s even a library to check out a book and read while your pup is at play. There’s a beach area where dogs have easy access to the water for summer splashing fun. Drinking fountains are also available for dogs and people. Waste bags and receptacles are in good supply.

East Aurora

East Aurora is 47 miles south of East Wilson. This neighboring town has some things for you and your pup to do. Knox Farm State Park has a large off-leash dog park. It is located at 437 Buffalo Road. The dog park has a separate fenced area for the small dogs, as well as water onsite. There is a hose available for filling water bowls and rinsing off some dirt on your pup. The State Park itself has numerous trails that your leashed pup can explore with you. There is also a lake in which many dogs take a splash in on a hot summer’s day.
