Downtown

Just southeast of downtown Fountain Valley lies the Santa Ana Trail, a trail that spans three counties for over 50 miles, starting down in Huntington Beach. While your dog probably doesn’t want to walk the entire distance, this trail gives him – and you – the perfect opportunity to get in a daily walk! Who better to enjoy it with? Stop to enjoy the views or explore down by the river; just make sure you wear good shoes and take plenty of water for you and your pet! A leash is required for your dog to walk with you.

Euclid

In Fountain Valley’s Euclid community is Mile Square Regional Park, a multi-complex, urban park that spans over 600 acres! While your dog isn’t allowed in all areas of the park, including the popular archery range, Fido is allowed to join you in any of the public areas, as long as he’s on a leash. Enjoy a walk by the pond while exploring, or pack a picnic to enjoy in one of the picnic areas. During certain times of the year, free concerts are held in the park, so you and your pooch can get your groove on!

Huntington Beach

If your dog likes water, Huntington Beach is the place to be! Huntington Dog Beach is considered a great attraction for pets and has visitors year-round from all over the country. If your pup has his sea legs, he can go for a swim in the ocean; if your four-legged friend is more of a landlubber, enjoy Frisbee on the shore – or just let him destroy some sandcastles you’ve worked so hard to build. Whatever you decide to do, your pet is sure to have fun – just make sure to bring some fresh water so that your best pal stays hydrated!

Newland

Located just a 10 minute drive south of Fountain Valley is Huntington Beach’s Newland community. Newland has two eateries that are popular with dog-owners: Snow Monster and Wahoo’s Fish Taco. Snow Monster serves a variety of desserts and proudly proclaims that dogs are always welcome at their restaurant, while Wahoo’s Fish Taco serves exactly what you’d expect – and then some more! Dogs are welcome to dine with you on the large, covered patio, as long as they have a leash. If your dog is feeling Paw-llywood, head over to Uptown Paw Resort and Spa to get them a pawdicure!
