North Morro Bay is a pawesome pet-friendly neighborhood that's just a skip and a hop outside of town. Primarily residential, the area features several city parks, a local café, and a school. If you travel from Cayucos, you will spot a fantastic area for pooches – The Old Chevron Strand. The place is also known as Morro Bay Dog Beach and should not be confused with the beach area in Cayucos. It's a spacious, sandy area where you can spend the whole day playing in the sand and surf! If you want to take a walk in the park, Del Mar Park in Morro Bay is pawfect! It has welcoming walking trails leading to a beautiful creek.

Embarcadero Road

Embarcadero Road

Embarcadero Road is located in the southwestern region of Morro Bay. It’s a mixed-use area with a few homes and a lot of parks and outdoor attractions. If you travel with Fido, check out the beaches! Morro Rock Beach is a place where puppies can run and play off-leash and dig holes in the sand. It’s a great place to meet locals and make new friends, especially in the evening! Coleman Park is perfect for a picnic. Why not invite your new furry friends (and their humans!) to grab a bite and enjoy the bay views in the shaded areas of the park?

Morro Bay Hills is a central neighborhood in Morro Bay. The area is south of downtown, where you'll find a variety of pet-friendly eateries! Morro Bay Hills is a residential neighborhood with small parks and recreation venues scattered around. If you head straight south, you will bump into the vast area of Morro Bay State Park, a well-maintained green space with tons of outdoor fun! From fishing to camping and everything in between, you and Fido will find plenty to do here! The trails here are just pawfect for dog walking. You can hit the paths with Fido on-leash and enjoy the views along the Bluff and Black Hill Trails.

Chorro

Chorro is an unincorporated community north of San Luis Obispo and north of Cayucos. It's a pawpular place with canine tourists! Why? Because of El Chorro Regional Park along CA-1. This is a popular and beautiful recreation venue that your puppy will love! The site is perfect for hiking on-leash – there are miles of walking trails ranging from easy to moderate. Picnic, camp, or watch birds for as long as you like. The park also features a separate doggy spot for making new friends and playing off-leash! El Chorro Dog Park features two fenced areas with water stations, splash tubs, and benches!

Laguna Lake

Laguna Lake

Laguna Lake is a central western neighborhood in San Luis Obispo, a beautiful pet-friendly area in San Luis Obispo County. The district includes houses along the western banks of Laguna Lake and the Laguna Lake Park Open Space. This is the attraction that your buddy will be begging to visit! It’s a natural recreation area with picnic facilities, BBQs, and sports fields. There are no walking trails, but you'll find something even better here -- an off-leash area where your pooch can sniff out some new canine companions! Make new friends and enjoy the atmosphere in Laguna Lake Dog Park. The park's two fenced areas feature grass, water stations, and seating -- don't fur-get to bring the waste baggies!
