Camp Verde Downtown
Take Fido out to the Fort Verde State Historic Park with you. This pawsome park provides a glimpse into the life of frontier soldiers during the late 1800s. The park includes historic buildings, guides, and history demonstrations. Your leashed dog is welcome to join you as you wander throughout the park to learn a bit of history. Afterwards, grab a bite to eat at Babe's Roundup BBQ. Their menu includes classic BBQ favorites like chicken and skewers, plus their outdoor patio is lit up, covered, and welcomes your four legged pal to sit alongside you while you enjoy your meal.36

Go on a great hike with your pup along the Copper Canyon Loop Trail. The trail is 3.9-miles long with a 387-foot elevation gain on a loop style route. While hiking, you will come across a waterfall and can enjoy a beautiful view of the valley. Your pup is welcome to join you for a good day of exercise, but make sure to keep him on leash while you are hiking. The trail does not provide any shade, so don't forget to bring enough water for the two of you while you are out enjoying nature together.24

Bullpen Road
The West Clear Creek Trail is an amazing trail to hike along with your pup by your side. The trail is 4.6-miles long with a 337-foot elevation on an out and back route. The trail often has a lot of wildlife roaming around on it, so make sure to keep your pup on a leash while you are hiking. The trail takes you through a beautiful valley. Since this area doesn't offer any shade, make sure to bring plenty of water along with you while exploring. The trail is known to be difficult, so make sure to check you pup's paws while you are out.12

Verde Lakes
If you and Fido are looking for a smaller trail to hike, check out the Bruce Brockett Trailhead. The trail is right over 2 miles long with a 128-foot elevation gain. While hiking, you will come across Beaver Creek and a beautiful vista, as well as a great view of the Mingus and Woodchute Mountains. The trail does not provide any shade while hiking, so make sure to bring plenty of water along with you and stop when needed. If you want to extend you hike, the trail connects to numerous other trails where you can continue your journey.
