Parkridge

Parkridge

Parkridge Park at 9734 W. Beardsley Rd. is north of the city center in a neighborhood of upper-middle class dogs.  The flat oasis that is this dog park features some grassy patches in two fenced areas for some off-leash fun. Dogs of all breeds mingle here, and separate areas are provided for small and large dogs. Humans can chat while their companions romp under the Arizona sun. The park provides water bowls for thirsty dogs, but humans must fetch the water. The park has several ramadas or pavilions for picnics and parties. A ½ mile lighted walking path makes for a pleasant evening on-leash stroll.

Alta Vista Estates

Alta Vista Estates

Alta Vista Park at 10631 W. Williams Rd. is a great public park situated in the northern subdivisions of Peoria.  This 10-acre park gives the neighborhood hounds, rescue mutts, and purebred friends a fun place in the sun to sniff, run, and socialize. Large dogs have a separate place from smaller ones. The park provides waste bags for handy cleanup. Humans can set up a picnic site for some chow before heading home. Ramadas give a hot human and their tired  furry friend a pleasant rest in the shade. A lighted ½ mile walking path makes for a great evening stroll. The park also has a playground for a dog’s companion children, making it a great place for a day of family fun.

Sunset Village West

Sunset Village West

Scotland Yard Park at 9251 W. Scotland Avenue is a public park situated in the Sunset Village West neighborhood.  This 8-acre park is a bit cozier than the other city parks.  The fenced dog park has beads of gravel amidst the green grass, and all dogs socialize in one single area. This park lets that bloodhound investigate a visiting Pomeranian with a sniff or two. No crimes usually occur, but human companions must supervise a bit more in this one-size-fits-all space.  The dog park is lighted for safe evening exercise. On that hot Arizona day, humans can steal a bit of shade at one of the nearby ramadas.
Parkview West

Parkview West

Sunnyslope Park at 9280 N. 71st Avenue is a howling good place for the average pup to take a run and sniff out some new buddies. It’s also off-leash, so your furry friend can roam free. Separate areas for small and large dogs makes for safer play, so that laidback lab is protected from that feisty Chihuahua!  This 23-acre  park is located in southern part of the city of Peoria in an established area of average Arizona humans and their dogs.  Subdivisions abound in this growing part of the United States.  This park has a few trees along its more than ½  walking trail, but don't forget to grab your leash--it’s required here.
