Wag! Walkers know Blandtown
Blandtown is a a residential and industrial neighborhood located in the northwest suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. As the state capital, Atlanta has several major universities, museums like the High Museum of Art, the World of Coca-Cola, and National Center for Civil and Human Rights, and headquarters for major companies like Delta Airlines, CNN, and the American Cancer Society.
Blandtown, which was named for the freed slave that originally owned the land, is home to a few industrial spaces like warehouses and commercial spaces including TopGolf, a few restaurants, a school, and clothing stores. Residentially, Blandtown has a few apartment complexes and some standalone, single-family homes with expansive yards.
The greater Atlanta area and Blandtown itself experiences all four seasons, however, spring and fall tend to be more mild. The summer months are very hot, sunny and can get quite muggy as humidity levels can soar. The winters, on the other hand, are chilly and rainy while snowfall only happens on occasion.
What is the terrain like in Blandtown?
Blandtown is a unique neighborhood with a good mix of natural and artificial terrain. This is particularly special, given the neighborhood's close proximity to downtown Atlanta. As you walk around, you will notice some wide, open fields while other parts of the neighborhood are more standard with shops and stores.
Additionally, as you and Fido explore, you will be happy to find that there are sidewalks throughout most of the neighborhood, particularly the parts with newer buildings. Some of the more residential areas, like the few streets with standalone houses, unfortunately do not have sidewalks.
The borders of Blandtown include Chattahoochee Avenue to the north, Howell Mill Road to the east, railroad tracks to the south, and Marietta Boulevard to the west. Huff Road and Ellsworth Industrial Boulevard are two other major roadways that cut through Blandtown and pedestrians may wish to avoid these more popular streets.
