Wag! Walkers know Cambridge Acres
The heavily shaded community of Cambridge Acres backs up to
the wetlands that separate it from Rose Bay. Cambridge Acres is an extended, thin neighborhood of luxury homes
set deep among the trees providing for exceptional privacy. While you are close
to Spruce Creek Road which you can use as a starting point to go anywhere, your
homes are set along Trailwood Drive which is
a much quieter stretch of road.
If you go north on Spruce Creek Road, it will take you to South Nova Road which you can follow to Dunlawton Avenue, the central shopping district in town. There are big box stores
like Walmart, Publix Supermarket, Petco, and Pet Supermarket. From
food for your family to treats for your pooch, you can find it all here!
Dunlawton Avenue will also take you to the beach where your entire
family, including your dog, can visit. It can also take you west to the I-95 interchange.
What is the terrain like in Cambridge Acres?
Cambridge Acres is a tranquil neighborhood set along Trailwood
Drive. The road is tree-lined and heavily shaded, but lacks a sidewalks for you and your
dog to walk on. While there is only minimal traffic, walking along such a
shaded street can be dangerous. Be sure you wear light-colored clothing and walk against the traffic to stay safe!
Alternatively, you can take your dog over into the neighboring
communities where there are sidewalks for your use. The only risk you run here will be pedestrians who may try to greet your dog. If your pup is not particularly social, consider venturing over to one of the nearby greenways which can provide you with more space to put distance between your pooch and other pedestrians. Make sure you use a short leash, regardless! It'll help keep things under control and keep your pooch safe in this family-friendly neighborhood.
How many greenways are there in Cambridge Acres?
Beyond the fact that most of the homes here have large shady
yards and the wetlands to the east, you are within walking distance of the All
Children's Park and Seemore Memorial Dog Park. The children's park is a large space with two
softball fields, tennis courts, a themed playground, a small splash pad, and plenty of
shade for your family to enjoy!
Next door, the one-acre Seemore Memorial Dog Park offers not
one, not two, but three fenced-in sections for dogs. One is for the smaller
dogs, one for the big guys, and one more for pups with special needs who may no longer be able to play in other parks. Each area
has a watering station for the dogs, benches in the shade for you sit on, and a
place to rinse your dog off at the end of the day. This is the only off-leash dog park in town and one of the best in the
area.
