Wag! Walkers know Briarwood Mobile Estates
Briarwood Mobile Estates
is a large mobile home community located along South Nova Road and close to Rose Bay.
Like most mobile home communities, the homes in Briarwood are packed together with small yards. There is a small lake and plenty of sidewalks for you and your dog to
use as you wander.
South Nova Road will take you
to the nearest grocery store in less than five minutes. Here, you
can buy everything you need to fill your pantry and refrigerator. You can also
choose from a large selection of popular dog food brands to ensure your pup
stays happy and well-fed. A little further north will take you to
Dunlawton Avenue where you will find more stores along with a great selection
of restaurants.
There are several green
spaces nearby, including nature parks, nature preserves, and the
beach where you and your dog can spend hours hiking along the sand enjoying the
sunshine and fresh air.
What is the terrain like in Briarwood Mobile Estates?
Being this close to South Nova Road, you can expect to be dealing with a significant amount of traffic
during the day and late into the evening. Even though Briarwood is a senior's community, you will see traffic here swell significantly during morning and
evening rush hours. Unless your dog is comfortable walking near this level of
traffic, you should consider taking your walks early in the morning before
things start building up.
The neighborhood does
have plenty of sidewalks for you and your pup to walk along, but they are a bit
on the narrow side; another good reason
for timing your walks to avoid the bulk of the traffic. The ground here is
flat, meaning you need to be creative in where you go for your strolls together. Go outside of the community to those surrounding you
to add variety and distance to your hikes.
How many greenways are there in Briarwood Mobile Estates?
To the south of your home
is Rose Bay and access to the Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve. This
1,600-acre preserve offers you a view of spectacular swamps and dense forest.
There are multiple trails for you and your dog to explore or you can hike
the three miles down to New Smyrna Beach. There is a 15-foot tall observation
tower in the preserve that lets you look out over the swamps.
If you prefer to spend
your time enjoying the ocean air and sand, it’s only a ten to
fifteen-minute drive to the beach. Here, you and your dog can get in a good
workout using the soft sand, then take a nice refreshing dip in the water before strolling back to your car on the wet sand. It’s so much easier to walk
on! Be sure you take the time out to search for seashells on the way home!
