However, just down the road is the Doris Leeper Spruce Creek
Preserve. The preserve is a vast area covering over 1,600 acres filled with swamps,
forests, and hiking trails. It's the perfect place to take your dog for long
walks. The trails take you to a 15-foot high observation tower that overlooks
the swamps and, if you are up for it, all the way to Rose Bay and back. These
trails are very popular and tend to be quite busy during the day.
