until well into the wee hours of the night, traffic on A1A is busy. This a four-lane
major thoroughfare feeding all the way
down the beach for miles. Rush hours are the busiest times of day and not the
best time to take your dog walking along this road. It can be very noisy which can
make your pup nervous and harder to control.
Once you do cross the highway, you and your pooch can make use
of the numerous residential blocks where you won't find as much traffic and
very few pedestrians out and about. The same applies to the beach
since vehicular traffic is allowed. The best time to go walking on the sand is
early in the morning before it starts to fill up with cars and people.

the way to the Ponce de Leon Inlet to the north. It's only a couple of miles, but

is a beach to play on, and the inlet to swim in when the summer sun sends the
thermometer past the 80-degree mark on its way to the mid-90s.
