Wag! Walkers know Riverwalk Condo
The Riverwalk Condominiums are
built on the part of the North Causeway that leads to the waterfront and beaches. All of the condos have a view of the Indian River North.
From your condo, you can also see the Marine
Discovery Center and the southern edge of the Spruce Creek Preserve. The causeway
is one of the two main arteries leading from the mainland side of town over to
the beach.
Living on the North Causeway is about as centrally located as
you can get when living in the New Smyrna Beach area. To the west of you is the
main part of town where you can find grocery
stores, pet supply stores, and plenty of restaurants for you to choose from along
with a number of parks and nature preserves.
To the east is the beach, more shopping, and more great places to grab
a great meal or go out for a nightcap.
What is the terrain like in Riverwalk Condo?
As a major thoroughfare from the mainland to the beachside,
the causeway itself is a bustling stretch
of road. It stays active from the early
hour mornings until late into the night. Thankfully, the condo buildings are
set back off the main road where you are likely to encounter less traffic. However,
as a large condominium complex, you and your pooch must learn to cope with a
certain amount of traffic during the day and early evening. There is another
condo complex on the same road and it is
an alternative route to the Discovery Center.
You and your pup have plenty of sidewalks to use for walking
along with some open, undeveloped areas
where there is enough room for you to let your dog stretch their legs. The engineers
who designed the bridge added protected
pedestrian walkways so you can hike over to the beach for your
daily walks or on the weekends for a change of pace.
How many greenways are there in Riverwalk Condo?
From your balcony, you
have a fabulous view of the southern end of the Spruce Creek Preserve. The
entrances to the preserve are a little further to the north, but the short
drive will be worth it. The preserve covers over 1,600 acres and includes both
forests and swamplands. There are plenty of trails for the two of you to hike
on, including those you can follow all the way to Rose Bay if you are up to the 6-mile round trip
hike.
If you take the causeway to the beach, you and your pooch can
make good use of the soft sand for a good workout as it makes you work for
every step you take. By the time you reach the end of your outbound walk, you
both should be ready for something a little easier. For this, you can use the wet sand that is easier,
providing an opportunity to play in the surf on your way.
