Wag! Walkers know Promenade Parke
Promenade Parke is a planned community on Pioneer Trail to
the west of I-95. The houses here are what is often referred to as "cookie cutter" in that the developers used very few house designs. In fact, you can probably find your way to the bathroom without having to ask
in most of the homes!
Living here puts you across Pioneer Trail from the Cypress
Head Golf Club, but beyond this, there really
isn't much in the way of amenities. However, this is one of the most
common reasons given for buying a home out here, beyond the tranquility
of the neighborhood.
Amenities such as grocery stores, bars, pet supply
stores, and restaurants for you to take your family out for a meal are all available
in town. Thankfully, the drive is typically no more than ten to fifteen minutes
unless you plan to go over to the beachside where there is plenty more for both you and your dog to do.
What is the terrain like in Promenade Parke?
The land here is a mix of flat residential lots, lakes, and
small tracts of woods. Each of the streets within the neighborhood offer sidewalks
on both sides for you and your dog to use for your daily strolls. While the flat
land doesn't provide much in the way of challenge,
there are several communities in the area you can build into your walks to add
more distance.
Many of those who live out here have families and jobs.
This means traffic during morning and
evening rush hours and when the school buses are running. The easiest way to
avoid this is to take your pooch
out for walks at other times.
When walking your pup on the sidewalks
within Promenade Parke, you should probably use a short leash as they allow for
better control. You can also use the woods and lakes to add variety into your strolls. It will help keep them from being mundane!
How many greenways are there in Promenade Parke?
Beyond the woods, lakes, and grassy areas around the community,
there are several green spaces within easy driving distance of your home. To
the west lies the South Tomoka Wildlife Management Area which is part
of the 30,000 acres making up the Tiger Bay State Forest. Here, you and your
dog can enjoy hiking miles of trails in the shade of the dense woods for hours
on end. You might even catch a glimpse of some wildlife bounding across the trail ahead
of you!
If you would like to give your pup a chance to run around without
being on a leash, the New Smyrna Beach Dog Park is twelve minutes away. The park
offers separate sections for large and small breeds. To help your dog remain hydrated, there are watering stations in each section
along with shade trees. For the humans, there is a shady pavilion to relax
under while your dog gets out there and plays with the other pooches!
