Wag! Walkers know Inlet At New Smyrna Beach
The Inlet at New Smyrna Beach is more than just another condo
on the peninsula. It is the northernmost
condo in the area. The only thing further north is Smyrna Dunes
Park. Being in the last condo building does present you with one of the quieter
places to live over on the beachside. From your condo balcony, you can see the sun rise over the Atlantic which is
a spectacular sight filled with color.
The only problem with living this far north is that you aren't
going to find any amenities here. However, this being
said, there are plenty of places to eat and shop within a five-minute drive to the south. On historic
Flagler Avenue, there are a number of eclectic shops and boutiques,
several restaurants, and numerous bars. A few more blocks to the
south is E 3rd Avenue where there are more shops and
restaurants, as well as a Publix where you can stock up on groceries.
What is the terrain like in Inlet At New Smyrna Beach?
Most of the way up the beach, the traffic tends to be
quite heavy. Once you reach this point, you've pretty much reached the end of
the line! The only traffic going north of here is going into Smyrna Dunes Park, which can be busy at times, especially on the weekends. The condos themselves sit on a loop road which
also helps to keep the traffic down. You and your dog can also use the loop
road for your walk.
However, since there are several other condos on the loop,
you are likely to encounter a fair amount of pedestrian traffic as people go to
and from the beach. The land out here is as flat as you might expect in an area
that has been developed for condominiums.
But the beach and park do offer you the opportunity to walk on
something that isn't paved. In addition, the condos
have plenty of carefully manicured lawns around them.
How many greenways are there in Inlet At New Smyrna Beach?
Living at close to the tip of the peninsula means living
next door to two large green spaces. The first
is the beach. Starting from Ponce Inlet, it runs uninterrupted all the way to
Port Canaveral. On the beach, you and
your dog will encounter the soft, dry
sand and the wet sand at the edge of the surf. Alternating both will give you a well-balanced workout to do with your pup.
The other is Smyrna Dunes Park where you and your pup can
hike trails, walk the 1.5-mile long boardwalk over sensitive dunes, and enjoy
looking at five separate but interconnected ecosystems. The
entire area is maintained by volunteers from several of the local
schools as well as the county. There is a dog-friendly beach to allow your pup to play and socialize with other local hounds and direct access to the cool
waters of the inlet for swimming.
