Across the river is the Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve. This is a nature preserve covering over 1,600 acres with over three miles of trails
running from New Smyrna Beach all the way to Rose Bay. Be sure to check out the
15-foot observation tower that allows you to see far out across the swamp.
You also live next door to the Mosquito Lagoon Aquatic
Preserve where you can take your dog for a canoe ride through miles of waterways,
stop and check out the local fauna, and, if you are very lucky, you might get to spend a little time with the dolphin
pod that has made their home here.
