Wag! Walkers know Seville Condo
Seville Condominiums is a small two-story condo located near
Bellaire Plaza, the largest shopping center on the beachside. The plaza is anchored by a Publix grocery store where you
should be able to find a few pet supplies. However, if you want a pet-specific supply
store, you will find them back over on
the mainland side of town.
Unlike many condos in the area that are mainly used as vacation homes, the Seville
Condos are permanent homes for those who live and work in the Daytona Beach area.
Of course, living on the beachside puts
you within walking distance of the coast where you and Fido can go for walks
or hang out in the surf together.
In the summer months when the outside temperatures
are in the 90s, the water is typically in the low 80s so no one, even your pup,
can complain about it being too cold to get in!
What is the terrain like in Seville Condo?
The terrain here is flat and very typical of any older residential
area on the beachside. Beyond the Bellair Plaza, the area is filled with block
after block of residences. The good news is that almost every street around you has
sidewalks for the two of you to use. You can choose
different blocks to add into or subtract from your walks to keep them interesting
and vary how far each walk takes you.
Walking
on paved surfaces also means having to keep a close eye on your dog's paws and nails
for any signs of damage. The hard, rough surface can wear down those paws to the point
at which they are raw and painful. By simply keeping an eye on things, you can address any
issues as soon as they occur rather than waiting until they start limping, by which
time you may have no choice but to take your pup to the vet.
How many greenways are there in Seville Condo?
If your idea of green space
is a park with lots of grass and plenty of shade trees, you will have to drive to
find one. The nearest is Tomoka State Park which you can find just north of Ormond Beach on the mainland
side. Take N Beach Street out of town to get there. Once you arrive, there is a half-mile
long nature trail for the two of you to walk along.
On your hike, you might see several of the different
species of birds who call the park home. You may also see whitetail deer, brown
bears, even bald eagles on your way back to Nocoroco. The village of Nocoroco
is estimated to be 1,500 years old and was home to the Timucuan Indians who chose
this location on the river for its massive supply of fish both in the Tomoka River itself and in the many ponds and lakes in the area.
