Wag! Walkers know Mason Park Homes
Mason Park Homes sit alongside Mason Avenue and comprise several
blocks of single-family homes just west of Ridgewood Avenue. Living here
puts you a few blocks west of the Halifax River and bridges across the Halifax
River to the beachside.
No matter what you are interested in, you can drive to it
from here. If you need a quick meal, there are plenty of fast-food and fine dining options. Pet supply stores and dog parks are all within driving distance. If
you want the nightlife, the best clubs are on the other side of the Main Street!
Living in Daytona means two seasons: the hot season and the not-so-hot season. In the summer, you can expect scorching weather and plenty of endless sunshine. Winters are quite mild
and tend to be in the 40s and 50s but, thankfully, the winters here are short with
the weather starting to warm up in February, just in time for Spring Break!
What is the terrain like in Mason Park Homes?
If you are looking for hilly terrain that is going to challenge
you, you won’t find it here. The entire area is quite flat. If that doesn't
sound like it would be much fun when it comes to taking your dog for walks, you could
be right or you could get creative!
There are so many residential blocks for
the two of you to explore here that you won't walk the same ones twice if you
plan your routes very carefully. You can also walk over to Sunnyland Park where
you will find at least a little bit of grass for the two of you use.
Walking in city terrain is different in that most of your walking is going to
be on paved surfaces, which can be hard on your dog's paws. Check
them frequently to make sure they are not being
damaged by the rough surface and that there aren't any cuts or other signs
of damage.
How many greenways are there in Mason Park Homes?
Living here, you won't find much
in the way of green spaces to play on. There are a
couple of fenced-in dog parks within driving distance including one at the Halifax
Humane Society and the Riviera Oaks Dog Park to the north. Both offer separate fenced-in areas for small and large dogs, watering
stations, and shady places for humans to relax in while the dogs run
around and play.
If you want more
space, there are several state parks and forests all within driving distance.
To the west, there are over 30,000 acres of
recreational forest lands and wildlife habitat in the Tiger Bay Wildlife Management
Area with countless miles of trails for you and your dog to hike. To the north, Tomoka and Bulow State Parks have 18,000 acres of hardwood hammocks and
trails to enjoy hiking in the
shade. No matter where you go, be sure you bring your mosquito repellent!
