Wag! Walkers know Bayshore BaTennis Club
The Bayshore Tennis Club Condo sits on the Halifax River over
on the beachside peninsula of Daytona Beach, offering spectacular views of both
the ocean and the river. One of the largest
amenities here is, of course, the tennis courts, but there are many others including
a private fishing pier. This is an excellent
location for those who enjoy eating out or hitting the nightclubs as there are
several of each within driving distance.
The beach is only four blocks to the east,
but if you are looking for a dog park or pet supply store, you may have to drive
a little further and go back over to the mainland side of the city.
Speaking of
great views, imagine being able to watch the sun come up over the ocean, heralding
the start of another beautiful 90-degree summer day! You can then watch it set over
the city skyline in the evening.
What is the terrain like in Bayshore BaTennis Club?
There is plenty of grass around the condo buildings for you
and Fido to run around on with a small public park right next door. Beyond this, there
are plenty of sidewalks for you to use as part of your daily walks.
The
sidewalks offer both of you plenty of ways to create a variety of walking routes
that will help keep your pup's nose happy each time you go out. Living here also
puts you close enough to the beach to use it for your daily walks.
The beach is
a great way to exercise with the soft dry sand dragging at your feet with every step. Just keep in mind that, just like the pavement, the
sand can become too hot to walk on during the summer months. Be sure you take
your walks early in the morning while the sand has had all night to cool off!
How many greenways are there in Bayshore BaTennis Club?
Beyond tiny Colin Park next door and the beach, there isn't
much else nearby in the way of greenways. But as
long as you don't mind going back over on the mainland side and traveling north
on Beach Street, you can venture to Tomoka State Park!
The park sits at
the headwaters of the Tomoka River and offers plenty of deep shade in the form
of one the last stands of hardwood hammocks
in the area. Here, you and your pup can enjoy hiking along the half-mile-long nature trail that takes you back
to the ruins of a 1,500-year-old Timucuan Indian village. The location was chosen because the river and ponds were teeming
with fish, ensuring the villagers had plenty of food to eat.
While you are
hiking along, be sure you look for many of the 160 different species of birds
who make their home here along with raccoons,
whitetail deer, black bears, and many others!
