view of any launches at the cape. It also offers
you a spectacular view of the beaches and the Atlantic coast. Located at the corner
of Aurora Court and Madison Avenue, not only can you see the beach and water, you can
be on them in less than five minutes! The only problem with this is that, in Cape Canaveral, the only dogs allowed
on the beach are service animals as per city ordinance.
The central shopping district for this area is on the West Cocoa
Beach Causeway and Astronaut Boulevard. Between these areas, you will find supermarkets, shopping centers, pharmacies,
and lots of great places to eat. If you need more than this, all you have to do
is follow the causeway over the Banana River to Merritt Island. Here, you will
find a Walmart Supercenter and, a little further on, the Merritt Island Mall.
What is the terrain like in Cape View Townhouses?
This could be a nice tranquil place to live, but your proximity to Ridgewood Avenue means that things tend to be fairly busy instead. This is an extremely hectic road from early in the
morning until late at night. Rush hours in the morning and evening only add to the traffic and noise. The only benefit is that there are no real hills in the area, making it easy to find spaces to walk as safe alternatives.
Unless your dog is used
to walking close to traffic, you might want to stick to walking
along Aurora Court or crossing to the other side of Ridgewood Avenue where there
are several residential communities the two of you can use. Here, the traffic is
likely to be far less and there are sidewalks
for the two of you to use as well. Some of the streets over here even
have lots of shade trees to help keep the searing summer sun at bay on your walks.
How many greenways are there in Cape View Townhouses?
The nearest park is close enough that you and your dog can
walk to it! You will have to walk along Ridgewood for one block, but then you can cut back towards the beach and
take Presidential Court to Cherie Down Park. This area offers a large open field of grass with plenty of shade trees. It also has
plenty of parking, public restrooms, picnic pavilions, and there are even walkways through the scrub to
the coast.
Fifteen minutes to the south in Cocoa Beach is the
only off-leash dog park close by. The park
offers a large fenced-in area for the big dogs and a slightly smaller one for the
little guys. Each area has a water hose you can use to give your dog a drink,
plenty of chairs for you to sit in, and shady places to relax. When your dog is all done for the day, there is even a rinse station where you hose off your dog before heading for the beach.
