Central
One of South Milwaukee’s most popular parks is Grant Park, where you’re sure to have a ball if you bring Fido along. You and your dog will have fun exploring this park, located just off of Lake Michigan, and all it has to offer. If your four-legged friend likes walks, make sure to check out Seven Bridges Trail, which runs through the length of the park. Make sure to bring a leash, as your dog is required to be on one at all times. Waste disposal bags are not provided, so you’ll want to bring some of those along, as well.

Southeast Cudahy
Ten minutes north of South Milwaukee is Cudahy, home to Warnimont Park. While your dog is welcome to explore the entirety of Warnimont Park while on a leash, there’s also the Warnimont Park Dog Exercise area. Here, your dog can run around off his leash and get in his exercise. There’s one area for all dogs to enjoy, but there’s also a special area just for smaller dogs who don’t do well around large dogs. While this park is open to everyone to use, you will need to get a permit, which you can get for one day or for the whole year.

Bay View
Located about 20 minutes north, in the Bay View neighborhood of Milwaukee, is Bay View Dog Park. Locals say this fenced-in, off-leash dog park is small – about one acre – but that there’s plenty of fun to be had! Whether your dog just wants to run around and burn off some pent-up energy, or whether he wants to chase after one of the provided tennis balls for play, there’s something for every dog! Bay View Dog Park also provides plenty of waste disposal bags for your convenience, and there’s plenty of seating for pup parents to relax.

North Racine
There are dog parks, and then there are dog parks like Johnson Dog Park! Located in northern Racine, about 20 minutes south of South Milwaukee, Johnson Dog Park spans 28 acres. This off-leash dog park includes several walking trails, and there are even ponds for more adventurous dogs who’d like to take a dip. Locals say that the park isn’t just nice for your dog, either; the views are beautiful, so bring along your camera to snap some pics of your dog in his own little paradise. It’s easy for your dog to get messy here, so make sure to bring along a towel or blanket for the ride back home!

Western Oak Creek
Just 5 minutes south of South Milwaukee is the city of Oak Creek, where your walk-loving pal will be excited to find Oakleaf Trail, formerly known as the Old-76 Bike Tour. This trail has beautiful views of the nearby city, and the best part is, it’s dog-friendly! Fido must be kept on a leash, one no longer than 6 feet in length, at all times, and any waste must be picked up and disposed of by you, so make sure to bring along some waste disposal bags. With an access point in Oak Creek, your dog will thank you for the short journey.
