Wenatchee National Forest
Visiting Wenatchee National Forest is a must if you have an active pooch keen to accompany you on an exciting and difficult adventure in the wilderness. Occupying a significant part of northern Washington, this forest offers an opportunity for leashed pooches to try their paws at conquering Chelan Lakeshore Trail, which is an 18-mile hike suitable for long strolls and exploration. It will take about two days to complete with Fido, so make sure you are ready for a challenge if you want to tackle the whole thing! The best time for hiking here is in spring or early autumn when it is not too hot and the weather is mild. Don't forget to take a lot of water with you!

Lake Wenatchee State Park is set on the lake and hosts an extensive recreation area for visitors to relax, explore or have some fun with a leashed pooch. The place is set west of Manson, just a skip and a hop away from Wenatchee National Forest. You will find the park extremely alluring with gorgeous rivers, picturesque views, untouched nature and a thrilling spirit of adventure. Your pooch is welcome to explore the whole area, hitting the well-maintained system of hiking trails that will lead you throughout the forest to a couple of beautiful hidden spots: fishing and kayaking areas!

Downtown Leavenworth
Leavenworth’s downtown, located 70 miles north of Manson, is a Bavarian-style place with the charming atmosphere of a small town, beautiful recreation areas, lake views and outdoor attractions you may have never heard of! Apart from standard sightseeing, the city center area welcomes you and your mutt to Leavenworth Outdoor Center, which offers dog-friendly tubing excursions! What could be better than floating down the river with your best friend by your side? If all that lounging gave you an appetite, you'll find lots of dog-friendly eateries in downtown. Located at the very edge of the city and on the left bank of Wenatchee River, Waterfront Park in Leavenworth is a great recreation spot not far from the busy downtown area. The place offers an extensive area for families and canine friends to enjoy outdoor activities, such as fishing, biking, playing, hiking and simply relaxing. Challenge yourself and your pooch on the Waterfront Park Blackbird Island Trail, which is a well-maintained, easy and dog-friendly trail system that winds along the river and throughout the forest. Choose one of a few strolling options available and enjoy the scenery and wildlife which call this trail home. Dogs must be leashed here.

Okanogan National Forest
Washington thrives with forests and mountains spread and dotted all over the state, so you'll be spoiled for choice when it comes to outdoor adventure. You won't want to miss Okanogan National Forest, set north of Manson near Sunrise Lake and Foggy Dew. Feel free to explore more than 13 miles of hiking trails here, but keep in mind that it will take about 8 hours if you want to complete the whole thing. This quiet and peaceful trail will lead you through the forest, along Foggy Dew Creek, and down to Sunrise Lake and Rolling Meadows. Enjoy the relaxing stroll, and keep your mutt leashed at all times.
