South Cheney
If you are looking to bond with your canine companion, look no further than this neighborhood. It is located about 17 miles from Deep Creek and will not disappoint. The Cheever Lake Headquarters Trail is a 3-mile hike that is in the Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge. If you and your pup like nature and the outdoors, this hike will be perfect. It is an easy hike but usually takes about 2 hours to complete. The trail is really flat and covered mostly in gravel, but you will need to be aware of ticks and mosquitoes in this area. Your pup will enjoy the open areas and it’s always fun to see wildlife, especially birds, on this trail. Make sure to bring some water and doggy bags for cleanup.

Central Cheney
This is a great neighborhood to enjoy a relaxing hike with your pooch. This neighborhood is relatively close to Deep Creek and has a great trail for you and your pup to hike. The Columbia Plateau Trail State Park has a former rail line that is now part of Rails-to-Trails. This trail runs for over 130 miles with various points to leave the trail or stop along the way to rest. The surface of this trail varies; there is asphalt, grass, dirt, crushed stone and gravel. Some of this trail is developed and there are other parts that are just raw nature. You will want to make sure you grab water for you and your pooch, along with some snacks and doggy bags for cleanup.

Spokane
This is a great neighborhood if you want your pup to run off some energy. It is located about 14 miles from Deep Creek, and is home to the Spokanimal Dog Park. This dog park is an off-leash park that has a lot of room for your pooch to run around. There is an open grassy area, a wooded area, and also some hills for your pup to play on. Fido will love exploring the variety of terrain! The park is fully fenced in so you don’t have to worry about your pup running off. There are toys all over for your pooch to play on and there are separate areas for larger dogs and smaller dogs. They have water available for thirsty pups; you will just need to bring your own doggy bags for cleanup. Grab your pooch and come out for a day of exercise and fun!

Central Liberty Lake
If you are looking to have a fun day with your pup, you will want to check out this Fido-friendly city. It is only 28 miles from Deep Creek and has a great dog park to visit. The Scraps Dog Park is a large, off-leash dog park where your pooch can sniff around and have a lot of fun. There is a grassy area for play, woods to explore and also a paved pathway around the grassy area to walk if you like. It is completely fenced in with areas of shade. There is water in the warmer months only, so if you go when it is colder, make sure to bring your own water. The park also provides poop clean up stations for your convenience. Grab your fur baby’s favorite toy and stop by this park. You and your pup will have a blast!
North Liberty Lake
Your pooch will enjoy one of the biggest parks in the state of Washington when you visit this neighborhood. Liberty Lake Regional Park has a variety of trails and terrain for you and your pooch to tackle. There are 7 miles of trails to hike. The trails are not hard to hike, but it will take about 4 hours to complete. At the end of the one trail there is a beautiful waterfall, so bring your camera! Your pooch will need to stay on their leash and you will need to ensure you bring enough water and snacks for you both. You also will want to bring along doggy bags for cleanup. If you want to get some exercise while enjoying the outdoors, this park is pawfect for you and your pup.
