Greater Avenues
Greater Avenues is an area of eastern Salt Lake City that's near the university and the Natural History Museum of Utah. It's less than a 20-minute drive from Woods Cross, and this area is also where you'll find Lindsey Gardens Park. This city park has playgrounds, sports fields, picnic areas, sledding hills, and an off-leash area. The Lindsey Gardens Dog Park is an ample area of the park that's been reserved for off-leash dogs, but visitors should be aware that it isn't fenced. Your dog can also join you in other areas of Lindsey Gardens Park when they're on a leash.36

Fairpark
Cottonwood Park is a lovely city park in central Salt Lake City near the Fairpark neighborhood. From playgrounds to walking trails, sports fields, and an off-leash dog area, there's something for everyone in this park. The Cottonwood Dog Park is a fully enclosed park where dogs of all sizes can interact without being separated by weight. During the winter, the water may be turned off, but there's fresh drinking water available in the summer. There are also benches, picnic tables, and waste disposal supplies in the park. This dog park connects to the Jordan River Trail, an excellent place to walk your dog on a leash that also leads to a fun swimming area for dogs.24

Glendale
Glendale is a neighborhood in southern Salt Lake City that's known for its diverse environment, as well as its proximity to amenities like the airport, schools, parks, and downtown. You can drive to Glendale from Woods Cross in less than 15 minutes and arrive at the Jordan Park Off-Leash Area. This dog park is part of a larger park that has a skate park, walking trails, playgrounds, volleyball and tennis courts, and horseshoes. The off-leash area is fully enclosed, and there's a walking path surrounding it so you can get your exercise right alongside your doggo. Don't forget to bring drinking water!12

One of the most pawpular dog parks in Salt Lake City can be found in the city's southeastern corner, which is a 25-minute drive from Woods Cross. Rotary Glen Dog Park is a spacious off-leash area that's surrounding by picnic facilities. Some visitors note there are steep areas in the dog park, so they recommend wearing good walking shoes so you can keep up with your pet. There's no division of big and small dogs in Rotary Glen Dog Park, but there is a swimming area and lots of seating for pet parents. If your dog decides to take a swim, you'll want to have a towel handy to clean up muddy paws.
