North Beach

The neighborhood of North Beach is rich with parks. Visit the Frank V Wade Memorial Park for its beautifully landscaped walkways that make a fabulous leashed stroll. The small Mombetsu Sister City Park is a Japanese garden to discover with your pup. Enjoy a leashed trek through Literacy Park behind the library that recognizes the power of reading. Its tree-lined areas are sniff-tastic places to explore with your pup. Don Davis Park, next to the ocean, offers a grassy place to get in a round of Fetch while listening to the crashing waves or a quiet place to eat lunch in the glass gazebo before heading back to the beach.

Enjoy sand and sea at Agate Beach State Recreation Site where your leashed pup is welcome to join you as you dig for razor clams or enjoy a beach picnic. The Agate Beach Dog Park offers picnic facilities and  features a large fenced, grassy play area. Vaccinated and licensed dogs under their owner's control are welcome to play here. If you are passing through Newport, stay at the dog-friendly Best Western Plus Agate Beach Inn in one of limited pet-friendly rooms with up to 2 dogs under 80 pounds. For dinner, visit The Gluten Free Place Restaurant where Fido is welcome at the outdoor tables.

Beverly Beach is popular for its well-known walkway which goes under the highway and emerges to the long expanse of sandy beach extending from Yaquina Head to the headlands of Otter Rock. Not only is this a pawsome long walk, but you can also enjoy the colorful kites flying on windy days, or the fossil hunting you can do here. A few steps from the ocean is a forest-sheltered campground with 128 campsites and 21 pet-friendly yurts. If camping is not for you, stay at La Casa Playa Christina or the Oregon Coast Bluff Cottage, both pet-friendly rentals available through Airbnb.

Wilder Dog Park is an off-leash, fenced park located right on the Oregon Coast that features transitional entries and exits and water for your pup. Mike Miller Park is a forty-acre parcel of land hosting a well maintained 1-mile woodland nature trail as the main attraction. There are bridges, observation decks, and benches along the trail to sit and listen to bird calls, watch small animals, and enjoy the beauty of native coastal vegetation. Stay at one of the dog-friendly hotels such as LaQuinta Inn and Suites Newport, or Motel 6 Newport. Don't miss the South Beach Fish Market razor clams at the dog-friendly outdoor tables.

Depoe Bay

Just 13 miles from Newport, enjoy Depoe Bay. Stop at Rocky Creek State Scenic Viewpoint, a spectacular ocean-front park where you can watch the crashing wave action in storms or spot gray whales. The Depoe Bay Scenic Park is a viewpoint few have found. Explore the small stairway leading up to the entrance of the park with your leashed pup where you can see the tip of downtown, the spouting horn, and the crashing waves. Walk the wooden footbridges and trails of Fogarty Creek State Park with Fido through the lush forest. Warm up with a cuppa at dog-friendly Pirate Coffee, or relax at their outdoor tables before continuing your beach adventures.
