Peck Hill
The Willie Wildlife Marsh is a state park in the outskirts of Gloversville. This area is a great place to go to soak in the natural beauty of the area. Aside from the wooden walkways built over the marsh, the area is all but untouched by human hands. Outside of the designated paths, it should also be untouched by doggie paws. Keep your pet on leash to enjoy Willie Wildlife Marsh while preserving it for the next visitors. Bring your own supplies--from doggie waste bags to bottled water for you and your dog, because Willie Wildlife Marsh is almost as wild as New York gets!36
Central Gloversville
Melchoir Park is a park that’s a full block long. This narrow park is a great place to walk your dog. Laps are a significant investment of time, so one or two could be enough to tire your pup out for the evening! This park is mostly undeveloped green space. Wedged into the dense Central Gloversville neighborhood, the paths in this park are used for everything from walking to cycling. Please keep your dog on leash in Melchoir Park. If you’d like to step off the path and just relax, this park has ample green space. Just pick a field not currently used for sports, and put your paws up!

South Gloversville
South Gloversville is a densely populated residential area. Wherever there are a great number of kids, there are the parks that cater to them. Myers Park is one of them, and it’s a great place to relax with your dog or the whole family. Myers Park puts effort into the playground area--recently updated equipment, combined with proximity to residential housing, means this park is bustling weekends and after school. The rest of the time this park is a green oasis in a busy neighborhood. You can opt to take either of the park’s walking paths for a leisurely stroll through the trees.12
Central Johnstown
Just 12 minutes down the road from Gloversville is the neighborhood of Central Johnstown in Johnstown. Sir William Johnson Park is a large, very natural green space perfect for exploring with your dog. One end houses Johnson Hall State Historic Site. While your dog cannot go inside the hall, the exterior provides educational opportunities and is dog friendly. Pups who aren’t impressed with local history will prefer to simply walk the walking paths in the rest of the park. These tree lined paths are easy walks, and with many loops you can pick the length of your walk. This park is light on amenities, so bring your own water with you!
Central Broadalbin
Just 15 minutes from Gloversville is the neighboring community of Broadalbin. This tiny town has one park right in its center: Pine Park. This park emphasises green spaces to play and room to roam. The park has one gazebo that’s perfect for eating lunch or posing for an impromptu photo op! The other main draw to Pine Park? Fields! The park’s branching paths divide the space into various large, grassy fields. These fields are great for sports--or exploring! Dogs can follow their noses all over this park, and the size means your shy pup doesn’t have to be trapped with a crowd no matter how much traffic the park is seeing today.
