We are new to the area and had to switch from our previous dog walker who could no longer commute to our new place. I was reluctant trying someone new at the last minute without our boy meeting them first but Lisa was amazing! It s as if he s known her forever! We forgot to turn on the AC before leaving so I quickly messaged her and she was able to do it when she got in. Very responsive and our boy seems to love her. I can t recommend her enough :)

bellevue Ave
You won't find any places in Ho Ho Kus where you can let your dog run and romp off-leash, but don't fret just yet! There's a dog park just 18 miles away, in Montclair, New Jersey. Hounds from all over the state flock to Brookdale Dog Park, a fully fenced and secure dog park. In this park, you can find separate areas which keep the small breeds safe from the larger, more energetic hounds. The ground is covered in gravel and mulch, and there is some agility equipment for extra fun. Water is provided in the park as well as waste bags so you can clean after your dog. The park is fairly big, making it perfect for tiring out your pup!

Lower Manhattan
A little bit further from Ho Ho Kus, around 30 miles south, is another park that is worth visiting called Sirius Dog Run. This park is located in Lower Manhattan. This relatively new, paved dog park is the pawfect place to let Fido go wild! The park is named after one of the Rescue Labs that gave his life in the 9/11 search and rescue operations. It is not very big, but it’s fenced so your pooch can play safely. There are also plenty of obstacles in the park so your pup can strut his stuff or learn some new tricks. Drinking water is available, and in the summer months, you'll find a pool where the dogs can splash! Bring your own poop bags.

Briarcliff Manor
Thirty-two miles away from Ho Ho Kus, across the Hudson River, is a beautiful trail that you and your dog would be barking mad not to explore. The Hardscrabble Wilderness Area Trail is located in East Briarcliff Manor. The trail can be considered as easy at 3.5 miles long, and takes approximately 2 hours to finish. Dogs must be on-leash on this trail. This is the pawfect trail for active dogs, since there are rolling hills, lots of brooks and even a pond where they can dip their paws. Bring poop bags and clean after yourself to keep the trail clean.

Central Park
Since Ho Ho Kus is just 21 miles away from the famous Central Park in New York, it would be a shame not to visit it during your time in Ho Ho Kus! The park is located in Central Manhattan, between the Upper East Side and Upper West Side. Dogs have to remain on-leash throughout Central Park, with the exception of the 23 designated areas where dogs are allowed to be off-leash. There are designated hours in which your dog is allowed off-leash -- before 9 AM and after 9 PM. The park has more than 15 drinking fountains for pooches, so your pup won't go thirsty. Be sure to clean up your dog's messes to keep this world-famous park clean and beautiful.
Middletown Pelham Bay
Around 24 miles away from Ho Ho Kus is another dog park called Pelham Bay Park Dog Run. This park can be found in the Bronx's Middletown-Pelham Bay area. It is fenced and includes separated areas for small and large dogs. You can find free parking in the vicinity of the park, so no need to bring any pocket change. In the fenced area, there are a number of benches for the human visitors. The park is generally clean and mostly shaded. Water bowls, drinking water, and waste baggies are all provided, in addition to a mini pool where pups can splash and play!
