The Wilds
The Wilds is a southern community in West Fargo, and although pretty clean-cut and well-maintained, the community is backed by wild and dense woods. There are two great dog-friendly parks in the city, the first being Wild Park, an area with vibrant grassy terrain next to a scenic pond. There's room to run around and play in, along with a playground and benches to sit on. South Wilds Park offers even more space to run around for Fido, but doesn't require them to be on a leash when playing in the open field. This park is pretty bare though, so remember to bring them water and clean-up bags!36

Beverly Flats
The neighborhood of Beverly Flats is a more upbeat residential community on the northeast side of town. Right on the shore of the Sheyenne River is Elmwood Park, a recreational area to play in that has paved trails, open space, and ballfields. The park has 3 fenced-in baseball fields, with shaded sitting areas, picnic tables, a playground, and a pavilion located around them. Cass County Park is another dog-friendly park in the neighborhood and although smaller, it has a quaint area to run around in, with a paved sidewalk that encompasses the area with a pavilion, playground, and basketball court. Dogs have to be on a leash inside both parks.24

Urban Plains
Urban Plains is exactly as the name implies, a serious of plains surrounding urban residential homes in Fargo, only .7 miles east of West Fargo. The park of choice for most residents is Urban Plains Park, which offers 4 acres of flat plains with park amenities. The narrow grassy area is located right along two ponds, with four different pavilions, a playground, restrooms, and a paved walkway. Leashed pups are welcome inside the park and will have access to water fountains, clean-up stations, benches, and trash bins. Another great place to take Fido is the unmarked paved trail off of 28th Avenue Street. The trail is surrounded by grassy lawn and is open to leashed dogs, but remember to bring water along the way.
