Madison Avenue
Even if you don't want to go any farther than Madison’s downtown area, you still have a chance to have a great time with Fido! You and your pup are sure to find a spot you'll both fall head over paws for here. Such as Strawberry Café, an old-school joint in the historic train depot with a chic atmosphere and outdoor tables overlooking the streets. The café offers traditional American fare and amazing desserts. Doggie diners will, of course, need to be leashed and on their best behavior. Make sure to bring a collapsible water bowl for your best furry friend.

Brairwood Heights
Located just 15 minutes south of Madison, Briarwood Heights is a busy neighborhood in the northern part of Jackson. This area is located along I-55, leading to shopping venues such as Deville Plaza Shopping Center, a dog park, and several pet-friendly restaurants with outdoor tables or drive-through windows. Pay a visit to Old Trace Dog Park -- it isn't the most pawpular dog park, but it has plenty of room for your pup to stretch his legs! This is a fenced, small neighborhood park with lots of green grass. Bring some toys -- don’t let your buddy get bored! You'll also need to bring water and waste bags.

Featuring busy arterial streets such as I-20 and Highway 80 West, the neighborhood offers a bustling lifestyle centered around Mississippi College. There are a lot of different facilities serving the needs of the residents and tourists, including cafes and shopping centers. Towne Springs Park, for example, is perfect for evening walks in good company! However, your pup will be more interested in Brighton Park to the south, off I-20. This is a lush and beautiful park with a pond and Brighton Park Walking Trail, a pet-friendly loop running along the perimeter. The park is a public place, and all pooches should stay on-leash.

If you're traveling northwest of Madison, make sure to pay a visit to small and charming Flora, a town in Madison County. Mississippi Petrified Forest in the Forest Park area is an amazing tourist attraction! If you travel with Fido, you will love exploring a nature trail leading through a landscaped environment formed more than 36 million years ago! You will also find a comfortable campground adjacent, where visitors prefer to spend a few days meditating or just enjoying the scenic views. This place is pet-friendly; however, pooches should be leashed at all times and are not allowed inside the museum.

Grab a sandwich or something from the salad bar at Jason’s Deli, or get comfortable at the outdoor patio in The Bulldog, a tavern with a selection of craft beer and plenty of sports enthusiasts to chat with. And if you need a really quick bite, Whataburger serves mouthwatering burgers right at their counter.
