Goodfellow Blvd/St. Louis Ave
On the outskirts of Hillsdale is the Barrett Brothers Park in St. Louis, a great park to take your pup to for a fun afternoon out. The park has a pavilion which provides plenty of shade during the hotter days, plus sports fields, basketball courts, and picnic grounds. Around the park is a walking trail the two of you can enjoy, fountains for water, plus benches to relax on. The lush green grass is perfect for fetch and your dog will love rolling on it. Locals love to bring their dogs here for a nice walk and say the park is relatively quiet and relaxed.36
University City-City Center
University City is four miles away from Hillsdale and features the University City Off-Leash Dog Park. This pawsome dog park is well-lit, has benches to relax on, and plenty of shade to help beat the heat. The park also provides chairs in case the benches are full, and running water to keep the pups hydrated. Smaller pups get to enjoy a slightly smaller area just for them to play in and feel safe. Besides the basic amenities, the park also offers a pool to splash in and plenty of dog toys for your dog to interact with. There is a membership fee required for entry into this park.24
Walnut Park
The neighborhood of Walnut Park in St. Louis is home to the O’Fallon Park, a great park to take your dog for a wonderful day. The park is 600-acres and has rolling hills and plenty of trees for shade. O’Fallon Park has a lake, numerous sports fields, a boathouse, picnic grounds, and spray and wading pools. Although there aren’t any trails in the park, there is plenty of paved paths to walk around on and enjoy the great outdoors. The park closes at 10 p.m. which gives you plenty of time to explore it with your dog and get back for dinner.

Delmar Loop
The St. Louis Walk of Fame in St. Louis is less than ten minutes out of Hillsdale and is totally dog friendly. The sidewalk along Delmar Boulevard is filled with over 100 brass stars and is known at St. Louis’ Walk of Fame. The Walk of Fame is filled with known names like Maya Angelou, William Burroughs, Robert Duvall, and Tennessee Williams. Your dog is more than welcome to come and stroll along the Walk of Fame with you. When the two of you are done strolling down Delmar Boulevard, stop in a Cicero’s and grab a bite to eat. They have a diverse menu and their outdoor patio is dog friendly.
Grand Center
The Ellen Clark Sculpture Park and Dog Park in nearby St. Louis is five minutes out of Hillsdale and the perfect dog park to bring Fido to. The park is mainly for large dogs since the fence is not small dog friendly, but there is a lot of room to run around and your dog will love that. Locals warn that some mud spots do pop up occasionally which can cause a mess if your pup loves to play in the dirt. Make sure to bring water for you dog as there isn’t any provided, and there is also a lack of shade.
