In the Polk Road neighborhood of the town of Hart, you and your pawtastic pup can share some together-time in the John Gurney Park. This park offers waterfront views with picnic tables, sports fields, and even a campground. You can use the day-use area to enjoy strolling with your pup on leash along the paved paths, or book an overnight stay at their pup-friendly camp sites. The park offers kayak rentals, so you can take Fido for a water cruise! Restrooms and drinking fountains are provided. Be sure to clean up after them to keep this park dog-friendly.36
Northeast Hart
You and your pawtastic pup will enjoy a great day together at the Crystal Valley County Park, in the Northeast Hart neighborhood, in Hart. There are over 7 acres of fun featuring scenic beauty, prime fishing opportunities and fun. Your fur-ever friend can enjoy taking a dip in Crystal Pond to cool off. There are plenty of paved paths throughout where any fitness-level pup will enjoy an on-leash walk. Don’t forget to share a picnic lunch under the covered pavilions, or let the kiddos entertain themselves on the playground. Restrooms are provided seasonally as well as drinking fountains.24
Mears
Look no further than the Silver Lake State Park, in the town of Mears, 4 miles west of Hart, to keep you and your pawtastic pup entertained. There are almost 3000 acres on both Lake Michigan and Silver Lake for you to enjoy. Pup will love the hiking trails which meander throughout forests and open sand dunes in the Ruckel’s Bridge day-use area here. You should always keep your pup on leash and remember to clean up after them. Visitors flock the area as well to ride their ATV’s on the designated dunes. Camping, fishing and picnicking top off the amenities.12
New Era
Check out the Stony Lake County Park in the village of New Era, 10 miles south of Hart, for a great outdoor adventure together. There are plenty of trails throughout, calling your name! There are many walking paths to take your pup for a stroll on leash, and a place to put in your canoe, if they would like to go for a ride. Plenty of tables and grills to flip some burgers are other amenities here. This park provides portable restrooms and drinking fountains. Be sure to remember mutt mitts.
