Park District
The Park District of Forest Park, IL, is just over five miles from Westchester and offers plenty of outdoor adventures for you and your dog to go mutts for! Here, you can choose from one of two dog parks, both of which are super pupular in the area! Forest Park Dog Park is fully fenced and has cushy mulch for your dog to play in. But, you’ll likely love the new Miller Meadow Off-Leash Dog Area, located within the Miller Meadow Forest Preserve. This park has luscious grass, fencing to let your pup run unleashed, and plenty of space for him to socialize, play, and let out some energy.

The Wicker Park neighborhood is 14.7 miles from Westchester and features its own dog park named after the neighborhood and its beloved park. This designated area of Wicker Park is fully fenced for dogs to enjoy without their leashes, and leashed pooches are welcome to explore the other areas of the gorgeous park with their owners if they’re cleaned up after. About 13.3 miles from Westchester is the Near West Side neighborhood of Chicago, which is THE place to be if you want to try some paw-friendly restaurants with just about any type of cuisine you can imagine!
