Pioneer Park
Inside the neighborhood of Pioneer Park, there’s an actual park also called Pioneer Park. This park is an incredible asset to the largely residential neighborhood, and the best place to walk your dog in the area. This large park has several dedicated areas for sports, exercise, and even a gymnasium and indoor pool. While your pup can’t play inside, the two of you can get plenty of exercise just walking the paths through this park. Add in plenty of grassy space for sniffing and picnicking, and you have a winner! Bring your own bowl, as the fountains here are too tall for man’s best friend.

Volz
Volz is a small neighborhood in Arlington Heights, but it has plenty to make you want to stay. Start with a vigorous walk at Berbecker Park. This small park can be looped for quick walks, or you can take it slow and bring the kids to enjoy the playground. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, head to one of two dog-friendly dining options in Volz. Noodles and Company is a unique dining experience. They have eight dog-friendly tables, and they serve noodles from multiple cultures! If you’d rather grab a sandwich, Big Angie’s Eatery is just blocks away and the perfect place to head. This family owned restaurant is always on the lookout for cute canine customers.

Greenbriar
Hasbrook Park in Greenbriar is a great place to take your dog for a long, leashed walk. This park features sports fields and playground equipment, but dogs love the nighttime illumination! Lights keep this park open past dark! There’s also a paved walking path that makes for an easy walk. You can head through the park to the fenced-off pond as well, which makes for beautiful viewing. Bring your own water bowl to start with, and if you plan on a longer walk, take a bottle as well so you can refuel partway. There’s lots to explore and sniff, so every dog can have a pawsome time.

Berkley Square
Lake Arlington in Berkeley Square is good for dogs who need a lot of exercise! If your pup thinks a two mile walk is a good start, head to Lake Arlington. This park features a two mile track that runs just around the lake! If your pup needs even more, two laps of the lake aren’t bad, and the view simply can’t be beat. Lake Arlington has a lot of attractions in the summer, from ice cream to paddle boats, but it’s always a great place for wagging tails and a good walk!

Palatine
Arlington Heights is a bustling urban center in the middle, but there’s still room to get out of the crowds and relax. Head north to Palatine, one of Arlington Heights’ furthest neighborhoods. The Palatine neighborhood park, Nickol Knoll Park, is a great place to feel like you’re above your troubles. Part of that is literal. The park is up above the rest of the area, and though walking it involves some mild hiking, it rewards you with a great view! The area is also a golf course, so walking the path provides views of manicured greens.
