Meridian City Limits
Meridian offers dogs a big welcome. The Candlewood Suites let their guests have bring two dogs of up to 80 pounds. The hotel charges a fee for each dog. Meridian also has green spaces for humans and their canine companions to exercise. Storey Dog Park at 430 E. Watertower Lane offers a 2.25-acre space for dogs to run and play leash-free. This dog park knows how to make dogs feel at home! There is a separate space for small dogs. Agility equipment, water, and waste receptacles are also provided. Human companions have benches and a covered shelter to relax while Fido plays. Dogs get to run, play, and sniff each other on a green carpet of grass. A walkway around the park makes for a nice walk together for dog and human companion. Meridian’s dog park is pawpular with the locals -- put it on the map in Idaho.36
Eagle
Less than ten miles northeast of Meridian is the town of Eagle and the Eagle Island State Park. Eagle Island has over 500 acres of woods bordering the Boise River. There are 5 miles of walking trails for on-leash walking. Dogs aren’t allowed on the beach, but the rest of the open space welcomes dogs. Dogs can participate in that family picnic or barbecue, but must remain on a leash. The Spoiled Dog Salon & Resort, located at 1752 E. State Street in Eagle, offers doggie daycare, boarding, and grooming. The Resort only takes a limited number of dog guests so each dog gets the maximum attention.

Nampa
Nampa Dog Park is ten miles southwest of Meridian at 2900 2nd Street. This is a first rate dog park. This 6-acre dog park offers dogs two fenced areas to run and play leash-free. Small dogs have one area, and big dogs another. This park has a pond and a creek, making it the pawfect place to visit on those dog days of summer! Nampa dog companions conscientiously clean up, so be sure to follow suit, since this park has numerous waste receptacles. There are drinking fountains for dogs and humans, as well as has walkways with shaded areas and benches. This dog park is pawpular with the locals, but visitors are always welcome!

Boise Bench
A short ten miles southeast of Meridian is the metropolitan area of Boise. The Boise Bench neighborhood has puptastic activities for your four-legged friend. Morris Hill Dog Park at 10 N. Roosevelt has almost 8 acres of green space. One acre of this park is devoted to dog fun. The dog park surface is mulch, and this space is eagerly shared by many dogs. The dog park has water for dogs and humans, and shaded benches for the human companion. Agility equipment adds to the exercise and fun. The rest of the park has open grassy areas and picnic sites that can be enjoyed on leash. Dogs come from miles around to play in this park.
West Valley Boise
Redwood Park at 2675 N.Shamrock in West Boise is less than a 10-mile drive east of Meridian. This 7-acre park lets dogs have some off leash fun in the park at designated times and places. Most of the park allows free roaming from sunrise to 10 AM, and 4 PM to sunset. This neighborhood park has nice walking paths, grassy areas, and several small parks to explore. Nottingham Park, Hewett Park, and Jullion Park are some small parks in this well-populated neighborhood, so get out there and pick your favorite! A handy Sonic on West Ustick Road provides some dog-friendly dining on the outdoor patio.
