Kings Terrace
Saint Simons Island Beaches are a great place to let your pup dig in the sand and dip his paws into the ocean during the off-season. From October to mid-May, doggies are allowed to romp off their leads on the beaches as long as they are well-behaved and under voice command. If your pup thinks he's the Alpha in your pack, you might want to restrain him on a leash no longer than ten feet. If you decide to spend the day here, it goes without saying that you are responsible for cleaning your doggo's mess. There are miles and miles of beaches that you can explore with your pooch!36

North Saint Simons Island
Saint Simons Island is so pet-friendly that it even has its own dog park! Frederica Park Dog Park features two separate areas for small and large breeds and offers drinking water for thirsty pups. Other things that this park brings to the table include shaded areas on both sides of the park as well as benches so the dog pawrents can rest while watching over their pooches. Near the dog park, you'll find a children's playground, which makes this place the perfect spot for the whole family. Just looking for a quick walk? Leash up and hit one of the walking trails.24

North Jekyll Island
If you'd like to explore more beaches in the area, head to Jekyll Island Beach, which is around 20 miles from Saint Simons Island. Here, doggies are allowed to dig in the sand and swim in the water all year round as long as they are leashed. There are certain areas where doggos are not allowed -- mostly in the South end -- so you'll want to make sure you pay attention to signage. The beaches aren't usually crowded at all, which makes this trip a peaceful adventure with your pooch. Don't forget to bring your own drinking water and waste bags!12

Downtown Brunswick
While beaches are a lot of fun, some doggos prefer to socialize in a doggie park. For the land-loving dogs, there's a perfect place nearby called North Glynn Dog Park. The park is just 7 miles away from Saint Simons Island, and it has separate areas where small dogs and large dogs can romp around. The play areas are mostly shaded, and there are places for dog owners to sit which are also shaded. The park also provides water fountains and clean-up stations for a pawfect experience! This dog park isn't the largest, but it has enough room to run and play, and that's all Fido really wants!
