Central Rome
Need a place to stay during your time in Rome? You’re in the right neck of the woods! The heart of Rome is home to multiple Fido-friendly hotels. If you’re just looking for run-of-the-mill lodging, head on over to Courtyard by Marriott Rome, which allows two dogs to stay with you for a low fee of $10 per pet, per night. Or you can stay at the Rodeway Inn, which allows you to bring one dog for an additional $10 per night. This hotel even has a designated canine concierge to ensure you have everything you need for your stay! Hungry? Stop in at any of the Fido-friendly eateries in this neighborhood, including Harvest Moon Cafe, Jandy’s Frozen Yogurt, and Jefferson’s.36
North Rome
If you’re not staying in downtown, or just want a quiet night out with your pal, the northern region of Rome is a great place to be. The main attraction here is Bella Roma Grill, which is the pawfect place to go if you’re looking to go on a fancy dinner date with Fido. You can enjoy Italian or Greek fare here, so you’re sure to find something you’ll like. You can enjoy your meal, along with your favorite beer or wine, out on the patio. You might want to bring Fido’s water bowl so he doesn’t get thirsty. Just ask the fur-iendly staff to fill it up for you.24
Acworth
Looking for a good ol’ fashioned dog park? You’ll find Pitner Dog Park in Acworth, which is located 39 miles from Rome. This dog park has about 2 acres of land and is separated into sections for small pups and larger pups. This is an off-leash dog park so your pup is free to explore to his heart’s content. There are benches for the owners and a lot of trees for shading and staying cool on hot days. Another great perk of this park is it also has a doggie water fountain and a hose to rinse off your pooch if he gets a little dirty! All you’ll need to bring with you is some doggie waste bags for those necessary cleanups.12
Canton
Brown Park is the main attraction in Canton, which is about 46 miles from Rome. If you want to get out of dodge for awhile, this is a great place to go! The drive is a bit lengthy, but it’s worth it for this park. It has quite a few large trees for shade and benches for the owners to sit on while they watch their fur babies play. This off-leash park allows your pooch to explore their surroundings. This park also offers waste stations, and baggies are supplied for your convenience. All you’ll need to bring is some drinking water for yourself and your pal and his favorite toy. Oh, and don’t fur-get your sense of adventure!
Dalton
This pup-friendly city is located about 47 miles northeast of Rome, so you’ll need to prepare your pal for the trip if you plan to visit Lakeshore Dog Park. This is the pawfect place to enjoy a walk in nature and some quality bonding time with your pawesome pal. Make sure you grab a leash, though, since he’s required to wear one here. Bring some water for your pooch, too, especially in the summer, since you’re sure to work up a sweat on the walking trails. There is a lot of space for your pup to sniff around and enjoy their freedom.
