Villano Beach
Does your dog love nature? (What dog doesn't?) Then he'll love living in Villano Beach, where he can visit nature preserves. The Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve, or GTM for short, is a nature preserve you and your dog will pawsitively love! GTM puts on events, like marine walks down the beach, to inform visitors about the different wildlife the preserve protects. After visiting GTM, it's time for some food! You can head inland to Aunt Kate's Restaurant. Aunt Kate's serves up all kinds of home-style entrees, like Aunt Kate's Seafood Platter or baby back ribs.

Is your dog a history buff that knows his historical events all the way back to "Jurrasic Bark?" If your dog knows his history, then he'll love living in the Anastasia neighborhood. You and your dog can take a bite out of history by visiting the Saint Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum. There are scavenger hunts and behind the scenes tours where you and your dog can explore the structure that has been there since 1874. Also in the neighborhood is Anastasia State Park. The state park offers over 1,600 acres of different ecosystems and wildlife. You can rent kayaks, canoes, paddle-boards, or grill up in one of the picnic areas.

Does your dog love to chase and play at the dog park? Then he'll love visiting the Paws Dog Park in the Ponce De Leon neighborhood. The Paws Dog Park is a membership-only park, but getting a membership is as easy as filling out an application. The park has off-leash playgrounds for large and small dogs complete with watering bowls, benches, and an educational bulletin board. After running around and working up an appetite, you can visit the Salt Life Food Shack. Salt Life has fresh sushi and seafood served any style you can think of — and welcomes doggie diners to share a bite with their owners!

Or, you and Fido can cruise over to Dan Murphy’s Irish Pub. At Dan Murphy's, you can enjoy beach-style takes on classic Irish food, like the Roli Cheesteak or Irish Nachos!
