Seymour Town Center
Looking for a new place to walk your four legged friend? Grab his leash and head over to Little-Laurel Lime Ridge for an afternoon of adventure. This 209 acre park is just waiting to be explored. Start your adventure by checking out the Marble Caves. Created after ancient coral reefs were metamorphosized, these caves are modern day marvels. Continue on one of the three trails that wind through the park that range from 1.29 miles to 1.98 miles. Be sure to stop by the Housatonic River overlook. You’ll enjoy spectacular views of the Housatonic River and the surrounding valley.

Beaver Brook
Treat your pal to a hike in the Quillinan Preserve. Part of the Naugatuck State Forest, this 5,000 acre parcel of land is a great place for your pooch to refresh her spirits and commune with nature. The trail system is comprised of six trails. The Red Loop is the shortest at .65 miles, while the Green Loop clocks in at 1.35 miles. The good news is that the trails are interconnected, so if you have an energetic pup, you can create a route long enough to burn her extra energy. Several types of creatures call this place home, so keep your eyes peeled for raccoons, coyotes, weasels, and squirrels.

North Street
Rolling Hills is a beautiful natural space located on the edge of a residential street. Grab your pooch and head over for delightful afternoon walk. The 1.42 mile trail takes you past a vernal pool, which is filled with runoff water during the wet season. If you happen to visit at this time, your furry friend may be able to spot salamanders, toads, frogs, and turtles. The Chatfield Street Playground is also in this neighborhood, and features all the necessities, including a ball field, playground, and a paved walking path. A few laps around the trail will make your pal one happy hound!

Bellevue Terrace
If your dog is begging for walk, clip on his leash and take a trip to Sochrin’s Pond Park. Although it’s on the small side, it is definitely not lacking in beauty. The .34 mile trail meanders through a thickly wooded area. There is also a creek with a surrounding wetland, and a variety of swamp loving plants. Your pooch will absolutely enjoy getting his exercise in such a lush setting. After you explore the trail, head over to the open grassy field so your pup can romp around. Bring some water and a snack, and find a picnic spot under one of the trees. Sounds puptastic!

Atwater Avenue
Osbornedale State Park is located in the neighboring town of Derby. Just a few miles away from Seymour, it is located right on the Housatonic River and is a pawsome place for adventure seeking pups.
