Western Meadows
Western Meadows is a mostly residential Mead neighborhood with plenty to offer its furry residents and visitors. One of the most popular places to go in this neighborhood with dogs is Mead Ponds Park. This park allows dogs on-leash, and it has an unpaved trail you can explore with your dog. This trail takes you past beautiful Red-Tail Pond, Vernon Pond, and Veteran Pond. If you’re hungry after your walk, Mead Ponds Park has numerous picnic tables where you can relax and enjoy lunch or a snack with your dog. Bring doggy bags and water, and have fun walking through this lovely park!

Glenwood Grove - North Iris
When you’re in this Boulder neighborhood, you won’t want to miss Howard Heuston Off-Leash Area. This off-leash area is 22 miles from Mead, and it features one big field where dogs of all sizes can run and play together. The field is unfenced, so be sure to keep your dog under voice control while they’re playing. To use the off-leash area, you’ll have to register online for a Voice and Sight Tag for your dog. Once you do that, you can use the park anytime you’d like! If you want to get a bite to eat with your dog after the park, head to Moe’s Broadway Bagel. Sit at one of their dog-friendly outdoor tables, and enjoy delicious freshly baked bagels.

Windsor Lake - Southwest
If you’re searching for another great off-leash area for your pup, try Windsor Lake Dog Park. Located 23 miles from Mead, this off-leash area features one fenced area where dogs can run and play. There’s also a furtastic doggy swimming area right next to the dog park. After your dog is finished swimming and running around, put their leash back on and take them for a stroll on Windsor Lake Trail. This trail is 2.25 miles long, and it takes you in a loop around scenic Windsor Lake. Bring water and doggy bags for your pup with you, and have a great day out at this park.

Chautauqua
Chautauqua is home to Royal Arch Trail, a fun place to take your dog for an on-leash hike. Located 28.5 miles from Mead, this 3.2-mile trail takes you through the forest and up to the summit of Green Mountain. From here, you’ll get amazing views of Boulder. You and your dog will both have fun hiking this rocky trail! If you want to get your dog a treat after your hike, head to Whole Pets Natural Food & Supplies. This local pet shop sells pet food and treats that contain no preservatives or by-products, and they also sell lots of fun dog toys.

Prairie Village
Prairie Village has another pawsitively amazing off-leash area for your pup: Rough and Ready Dog Park. This dog park is seven miles from Mead, and it has one fenced field where dogs can run, play, and make new friends. There’s also a small irrigation pond where dogs can splash around on hot days. Bring water with you, and enjoy playing here. If you want to get a sweet treat with your dog after the park, head to Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers. This custard shop sells doggy ice cream, and they also have tasty burgers, hot dogs, and sundaes. Bone Appetit!
