College
Lucchesi Park is a 30-acre park in northern Petaluma, and it's less than five miles from Penngrove. In addition to its playgrounds, walking paths, sports courts and fields, bird watching spots, and disc golf course, this park also has a designated off-leash space during certain hours of the day. The designated off-leash hours are from 6 AM to 11 AM on Monday through Friday, 6 AM to 8 AM Saturday and Sunday, and 8 PM to 10 PM Monday to Sunday. The off-leash dog run isn't fenced in, so it doesn't include separate areas for big and small dogs. Your dog can also join you in other areas of the park at any time as long as they're wearing a leash.36

Oakhill Brewster
Oakhill Brewster is an area of western Petaluma that's about a ten-minute drive from Penngrove. It's known for its tree-lined streets and heritage homes. This area is also where Oak Hill Park is located. This 4.5-acre neighborhood park has basketball courts, picnic facilities, playgrounds, and a designated off-leash dog area during certain hours of the day. You'll find the off-leash space in the lower area of Oak Hill Park, and it's open from 6 AM to 10 PM Monday to Friday, 6 AM to 11 AM Saturday and Sunday, and 5 PM to 10 PM Saturday and Sunday. Be sure to bring your own drinking water, and remember, this off-leash area isn't entirely fenced.24

Rincon Valley
The northeastern corner of Santa Rosa, California is less than a half-hour drive from Penngrove, and this area is home to the Rincon Valley Community Dog Park. This off-leash park is beautifully maintained, and it includes big and small dog sections, as well as a small pond where dogs can swim. Some of the dog park's other features include drinking water, seating, and waste disposal supplies. Rincon Valley Community Park is a nearly 19-acre park that also has sports fields, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, and barbecues, and your dog can join you in these other areas of the park if they're leashed.12

San Marin
Dogbone Meadow at O'Hair Park is an off-leash dog park in northwestern Novato, California and it's less than 20 miles from Penngrove. This two-acre dog park doesn't include a separate small dog area, but there is agility equipment, and there are often plastic pools set up around the park so dogs can swim on hot days. There's also running water for dogs to drink, waste disposal supplies, shaded areas, and seating. The rest of O'Hair Park sits on more than 90 acres of space, and this lush park also features a long walking trail that's popular with on-leash dogs, as well as equestrians and hikers.
