The mixed-use area of Alisal is just west of downtown Salinas. Here, you will find neighborhood blocks, local shops, and tons of parks! And your buddy will be excited to visit them all! Where should you start? You can sniff around Closter Park, a neighborhood park with a fenced sports field. If there’s nobody around, you can play off-leash in the fields! E. Laurel Pocket Park is another small green area with a playground to check out. You'd be barking mad to miss out on Cesar Chavez Community Park, a beautiful open area with tons of outdoor attractions. Keep in mind that puppies must be on-leash in all parks.

Natividad is a northern neighborhood of Salinas. The mixed-use area features residential quarters, a shopping center, and even a dog training club! There are at least three neighborhood parks your Fido will be glad to sniff and play in. Natividad Neighborhood Park offers recreation activities, including sports fields and a playground. Farther south along Linwood Dr., you will find Laurel Neighborhood Park. It’s a small green area that's pawfect for a picnic and an on-leash walk! If you want to relax and make friends with the locals, paw on over to Sherwood Park. This is a large green space with sports facilities and lots of visitors -- both of the human and canine variety!

Salinas is a beautiful city in California with a welcoming downtown area. You won't have any trouble sniffing out a dog-friendly place to dine or relax here! Before you explore the commercial sector with museums, cinemas, and cafes, check out Central Park. It’s a green space on Central Ave. where your buddy will feel barkvelous! The park itself is about 8 acres. It features BBQs, grills, picnic tables and open grassy areas for playing catch or just wallowing in! There’s also an exercise course and a trail. Hungry? Patria is an upscale restaurant offering a variety of European cuisines. Small puppies and lap dogs are welcome inside!

Both enclosures are covered in sand -- Fido will pawsitively love digging, wallowing, and going dog wild with all his new canine companions at this pawesome park!

Monterey County is truly a pet-friendly place! The Mescal Corridor neighborhood in Seaside, a coastal city in California, is a pawfect example of the area's dog-friendliness. It’s a primarily residential area with local schools and churches, just steps from Del Rey Oaks and its parks! Pacchetti Dog Park along Kimball Avenue is located in the eastern part of the neighborhood. It’s a free community park run by the local volunteers. It offers ruffly 2 acres of open space for pooches! The park has an additional enclosure for small puppies and a beautiful walking path that provides gorgeous views of the coast and some nature for Fido to sniff out!
