Lagunitas
Grab Fido and head out onto the Sir Francis Drake Bikeway Trail. This pawesome trail is 5.3-miles long and you will hike on an asphalt trail surface. The trail will take you over wooden bridges, and near the Lagunitas Creek where your dog can stop for some water. At mile three, there will be restrooms for owners, and if you need a break, there is plenty of shade from the redwood groves. Make sure your dog stays on a leash while you go out and hike this dogtastic trail, and don't forget to bring water and clean-up bags with you.36

Nicasio
Enjoy a day out at the French Ranch Open Space Preserve. This 403-acre preserve offers some amazing hiking trails that you and Fido can go explore together. There are three trails that you can choose from that range from 0.70miles to 1.1-miles in length. The Top Flight Trail is the longest trail in the preserve and only has a 399-foot elevation gain, perfect for any hiker. The trails don't offer shade, so make sure to take breaks and bring along plenty of water for you and Fido. While you are out at the preserve, you need to keep your pup on a leash. Located six miles out of Lagunitas in Nicasio, your dog will love this little getaway.24

Forest Knolls
Check out the Gary Giacomini Open Space Preserve with your four-legged friend. The open space is 1,500-acres of forested and rugged terrain. There are hiking trails throughout the preserve that you and Fido can use for a walk together. Hike five miles along the San Geronimo Fire Road and be covered by lush redwoods the entire time. The trail will take you to Peter's Dam where you can turn around, or continue into the Azalea Hills. Keep your dog on a leash while you explore the preserve which is located in Forest Knolls, and less than a mile out of Lagunitas.12

San Geronimo Valley
The Roy’s Redwoods Preserve overlooks the San Geronimo Valley and is the perfect spot to spend some time with your pup. The 293-acre preserve is covered by some of the tallest redwoods in the county and is a great place to go for a hike. Take a hike on the Dickson Ridge Fire Road which will take you up a steep climb and give you an amazing view of Mount Tamalpais and Mount Wittenberg. Make sure to bring plenty of water and clean-up bags with you to this preserve in Woodacre. Only three miles out of Lagunitas, this is a great destination for you and Fido.
