Midland Beer Garden Yappy Hour
On the first Thursday of each month, join the Midland Humane Coalition at the Midland Beer Garden for a Yappy Hour celebration from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. While you sip tasty beer in the Beer Garden, the Midland Humane Coalition will offer $20 dog microchipping for pets from any city or county in Texas with no additional charge for registering your pet or updating owner information!
Enjoy great beer and food while your pup socializes with other local dogs.
Please only bring friendly, vaccinated dogs into the Beer Garden. If you have an unvaccinated, aggressive, or anxious pet, the Midland Humane Coalition can come to your car for the microchipping.

Runnin’ Fur Rescues 5k Fun Run
Dress up your pup and head out to the Runnin’ Fur Rescues 5k Fun Run and Walk in October at Midland College. Wear costumes for the chance to win great prizes in the costume contests after the race! Take fall-themed photos with your pet for a fun memento of the day. Don’t forget to check out the vendors after the walk!
Registration generally begins at 8 am, with the race starting at 9. The whole family is invited to walk, and dogs of all sizes and breeds are welcome!
Ticket prices will be announced closer to the event date. Proceeds from the event go to Lone Star Sanctuary for Animals, which is based out of Midland.

Hot Dog Run 5k and 1k
Midland College hosts the Hot Dog Fun 5k and 1k each June. The whole family, including your dog, is invited out for a nice, morning race!
Registration opens at 7 am on race day. The 5k race begins at 8 and the 1k will begin at 8:30. After the races, Texas Roadhouse will be on-site serving breakfast. Contests and activities begin at 9 am.
Sign your dog up for all kinds of contests including Best Trick, Best Costume, and Cutest Dog!
Registration is $35 per adult for the 5k race and $20 per adult for the 1k. Children under 12 are free for both races, but they will not be timed unless they pay adult rates. Proceeds benefit Midland Humane Coalition.

Pet Splash
Just 30 minutes away from Midland, Texas, the annual Pet Splash event takes place each August in Odessa. From 6 to 8 pm on a day in August, dogs will fill Sherwood Aquatic Center for one last splash in the pool for the summer!
During Pet Splash, there will be music, snacks, contests, giveaways, and more. Contests include the Best Trick and Personality Contest, the Pet and Owner Look-a-Like Contest, and the Owner and Dog Crazy Dance Off!
This free event is for dogs and their owners only. You won’t be admitted without a pet. One only dog per person.
Sit, Stay, Sips at the Blue Door
Each June, the Midland Humane Coalition teams up with the Blue Door for their Give Back Monday Profit Share. This happy hour fundraiser is the perfect opportunity for you to enjoy great food and drinks at the Blue Door while your pooch socializes with other local mutts!
The Blue Door will split the profits of all food and drinks purchased between 4 pm and 10 pm each Monday in June, so use your dinner as a way to give back to the Midland Humane Coalition!
Dogs are only allowed on the patio during this event. The patio at the Blue Door is always dog friendly.
