Mardi Gras Dog Parade
Celebrate Mardi Gras like never before with the Annual Mardi Gras Dog Parade in Austin! Meet up with other dogs and dog owners at the Austin Beer Garden Brewing Company in February. Walk in the parade with Rocco the Pug and Pug Rescue Austin.
After the parade, dogs can “Bark for Beads,” and all dressed up pups will receive tickets to the raffle, where they have the chance to win great prizes, so be sure to dress your dog in their best Mardi Gras outfit!
Enjoy live music, a prize feel, Cajun food, and a King Cake during the celebration.
Admission has yet to be set.

Puppy Bowl
Before you watch the big game, be sure to celebrate the Super Bowl with the Puppy Bowl at the Austin Humane Society from 12 pm to 3 pm on Super Bowl day in February. The Annual Puppy Bowl kicks off at noon with a football-themed tailgate! During the tailgate, your whole family can enjoy great food and fun activities for children. There will be adoptable pups there to meet with you and local vendors will have pet-related products and services available!
After the tailgate, don’t miss out on the puppy MVP battles to see which puppy goes all the way. You can even participate in the Puppy Player Prediction that will be taking place all afternoon!
Admission is free. Dogs are welcome at the tailgate, but can’t come inside for the puppy battles.

Hounds and Heroes 5k and Family Festival
Lace up your best running shoes and leash up your dog for the Hounds and Heroes 5k and Family Festival in April! Meet at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park and run to help provide Bow Wow Reading Dogs to local schools and Hounds for Heroes service dogs to veterans and first responders in need.
The 5k event starts at 9 am. After the run, stick around for the dog costume contest at 10 am. The “Central Texas Dogs Got Talent” competition starts at 11. Be sure to dress your dog up and show off its best tricks for a chance to win fun prizes! There will also be vendors at the event.
Registration fees haven’t been set.

Rescue Roundup
Help Texas Humane Heroes at the Rescue Roundup fundraiser! For the first time, the Rescue Run and Chili Cookoff are being combined into one jumbo event in March.
The morning starts with the Kid’s K run at 8 am, which is followed by the 5k race at 8:30 am. Immediately following the regular 5k race is the Dog Jog 5k, which allows dogs to race alongside their owners. Registration fees for the Kid’s K are $15 each and the 5k races are both $30 per person.
The Chili Cookoff begins at noon and includes live music and doggy demonstrations. Children under five can participate for free. General admission to the cookoff is $10, while making the chili is $30 per team.
To participate in both of these events at a discount, register for the $35 ticket.
Dog Jog
The Dog Jog provides you and your dog with the opportunity to run and exercise for a good cause together. The Annual Pflugerville Pets Alive Dog Jog will take place at Pfluger Park in November! This 5k race is the perfect opportunity to help the Pflugerville Pets Alive organization.
The event is completely pet- and family-friendly, and even the littlest supporters are invited to take part!
Registration begins at 7:15 am and is followed by a pre-race warmup. Registration is $30 per adult and $15 for children between seven and 15. Children under seven are free. T-shirts and swag bags are available for pre-registered participants.
