Bark in the Park
Each October, join other pet owners at Forsythe Park in Monroe, Louisiana, for some serious exercise with your pooch. The annual Bark in the Park takes place here, so sign up for the 5k or 1k events with your dog!
The first race begins at 8 a.m. on Riverside Drive. When the last runner of the 5k crosses the finish line, the 1k race will begin. There will also be a Blessing of the Pets at 8:30 a.m.
There will be door prizes, gift bags, live music, and shirts for both humans and dogs. Winners will receive trophies.
Registration starts at 7 a.m. for the 5k and 7:30 a.m. for the 1k.
Unfortunately, no aggressive dog breeds are allowed at Bark in the Park. You may want to call to see if your pet qualifies for the event.

Fido 5k and 1 Mile Dog Walk
Join Happy Hound Hotel, Hulsey, Hardwood, and Sheridan for the annual Fido 5k and 1 Mile Dog Walk in Monroe each October. This annual event offers two different races for you and your pooch to partake in. The event is fun for the whole family!
Registration begins at 7 a.m., and the 5k race kicks off at 9 a.m. The 1-mile dog walk will start at 9:15 a.m.
After the races, stick around to enjoy food and a variety of vendors. There will be all kinds of fun activities to partake in.
Proceeds from the race go to the Humane Society Adoption Center.

Krewe of Paws Mardi Gras Pet Parade
Bring your pup down to the Krewe of Paws Mardi Gras Pet Parade Fundraiser each February! This year’s theme is the 80’s, and you won’t want to miss out on all the great 80’s-themed dog and human costumes that will flood the streets.
Don’t forget to prepare your float for the event. You can even bring or buy beads at the parade to throw into the crowd.
Times and fees will be released closer to the date of the event. Proceeds from the event will go to PAWS of NE Louisiana.

Martinis for Mutts
Each October, PAWS of NE Louisiana hosts the annual Martinis for Mutts event. Join the fun and help raise money for PAWS of NE Louisiana while sipping on delicious martinis. Chef Nolan will be slinging martinis and other delicious treats.
The event features a silent auction that guests can partake in, as well as live entertainment and tasty treats.
Martinis start flowing at 6 p.m., and the evening wraps up at 9 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.
Raising Cane’s Dog Park
Don’t let your dog miss out on all the fun that's waiting to be had at Raising Cane’s Dog Park at Kiroli Park. Walk your dog through Kiroli Park and stop by Raising Cane’s Dog Park to let your dog play with other pooches of similar size. The park is divided into two sections: one for small dogs, and another for large ones! Both sections of the park have nice, covered sitting areas, ponds, and a waterfall!
Relax on one of the benches or chairs while your pupper runs wild and plays in the pond. There is no admission fee for playing at the dog park or entering Kiroli Park.
